So what do y’all think happens to Commarano now? He seems to be walking that thin line between being heavily involved in the life while trying to still play it off as a family man. Now that he beat the case is done? Retired? Shelved? Or is this guy arrogant enough that it’s business as usual?
I’ll give him this for 59 he has a nice head of hair ha.

Re: Bonanno trial / Joe C and Porky acquitted
Cammarano is a second-generation mobster whose father was the underboss and whose brother is a soldier. Cammarano’s father-in-law and brother-in-law are both capos. I don’t see how it’s possible for him to leave, and evidence indicates that he’s incredibly ambitious. He had to fight to become the acting boss, and he held a lot of brazen get-togethers in furtherance of that. So no, I really don’t see how retiring at 59 is an option he’s considering.

Damn I’m not Italian and not from the north east. Grew up in a family business that in some ways could compare to some organized crimes dealings but I just can’t imagine l. This guy was looking at coming close to dying in. Prison! Nuts!

He was acting underboss after Massino's indictment. I'm not sure whether he became official after Vitale flipped

afterward, wasnt it a 'panel' with basciano, urso, and cammarano senior? thats the way basciano's book made it sound, although i believe urso was straight up acting boss at some point. it was cammarano who delivered the news to tartaglione that he was being shelved, IIRCchin_gigante wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 8:31 pmHe was acting underboss after Massino's indictment. Re: Bonanno trial / Joe C and Porky acquitted
When Vitale was demoted the Bonannos used a committee to act in the position of underboss before it was dissolved and Cammarno, Sr was made acting UB. I do not believe that any of the three you mentioned were part of a panel or committee but they all held various "acting" positions within the family at one time or another.newera_212 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 9:42 pmafterward, wasnt it a 'panel' with basciano, urso, and cammarano senior? thats the way basciano's book made it sound, although i believe urso was straight up acting boss at some point. it was cammarano who delivered the news to tartaglione that he was being shelved, IIRCchin_gigante wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 8:31 pmHe was acting underboss after Massino's indictment. Santora died in October but his nickname was "Nicky Mouth," not "Nicky Glasses."
