A trial starting Monday against the accused acting boss of the Bonanno crime family and his consigliere will likely feature a scorched-earth attack on two mob rats who allegedly had a cozy relationship with the feds and the NYPD. Joseph (Joe C) Cammarano and John (Porky) Zancocchio are accused of extortion and racketeering conspiracy.

Disagree. Acquittal is still a long shot for all of these trials. The recent runs of acquittals goes against the grain, not with it.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a chance, due the credibility of said rats, but as the prosecutor’s say, that’s all sideshow and doesn’t detract from the case and likely evidence itself. Sure the rats my lack credibility, and be worked on the stand, but that doesn’t mean porky and Cammarano are innocent and the jury will more often than not, likely make that distinction.

The outcome of the trial will be interesting. I hope the whole Lucchese- Bonanno dispute in 2012 is covered.

The feds run a stacked deck and have a very high conviction rate. That being said the tide seems to be turning due to their laziness and shoddy case work. The feds got lazy and dirty. Well, they have always played dirty. Now they are lazy as well.

lovaglio seems like such a peice of trash they might skeeve the guy and let everyone walk. but, he wasnt too trashy for cammarano to take money off of for years or for zancocchio to hang around, so im not sure. doesnt seem as mess of a case as the crea/londonio/meldish thing but it doesnt seem like a grand slam, either

Cammarano was caught on tape discussing his role as the Bonanno family acting boss, a dispute between the Bonannos and the Gambinos, the Bonanno family's rising status under Cammarano, and the structure of the family under Cammarano. It's highly unlikely that a jury is going to be able to look past that.
