"Not much left" is the key phrase and an understatement. Except for literally one or two other guys, D'Elia was just about the last man standing. He didn't testify against any other mob guys and nobody would have considered him worth the bother anyhow. Especially nowadays.
Ligambi was regularly meeting with D’Elia in the 2000s, it’s well documented.
Billy D'Elia was close to Pittsburgh and Youngstown OC figures as well. He had a waster hauling scheme and recommended Youngstown businessman Vic Calautti to launder all the money for mob bosses in Scranton (Bufalino) Pittsburgh (Genovese) and Philly (Stanfa).
Vic Calautti actually had a contract out on his head by Joey Naples. Naples and his brothers killed Vic's brother Paul back in the 1960's. Calautti had ties to financiers at Swiss Banks and overseas where all the narcotics money was laundered.

I remember back on the old RD when you posted this info.
It still blows me away how much $ that Vic handled for these guys.
Crime definately paid for this group. Thanks for posting this again!
I agree that the amounts of money being laundered were staggering. I need to dig out court docs because the final numbers were around $460 million. Mike Genovese personally gave over $15 million to be laundered and invested the rest of his money in commercial real estate in a Highland Park, PA real estate firm.
Makes you wonder who ended up with all of Larocca and Genovese's $. I know Russ Bufalino has sons. Not sure about the Pitt guys.
Russ Bufalino had no children at all. From my understanding, he left money to his nieces and nephews from both sides of the family to be split equally.

John LaRocca had one son, John LaRocca Jr. He was Vice President of Local 1058 LIUNA, appointed in 1983 as a business agent. He inherited a boatload of money.
Mike Genovese had one son who is still in the midst of fighting Mike's 3rd wife, Jennie. The court just ordered her to sell the home and proceeds are to be split in half. Mike two daughters from his first marriage are both deceased, cancer. Most of Mike's money was laundered into commercial properties which have already been sold and the proceeds split between Mike's son and his widow. Mike's son has a position with the Post Gazette Truck Drivers Union.
