Denver too, the Pueblo Sicilians just let it die and the Potentini Smaldones of Denver took over.

NE is very interesting for the large amount of Campanians and Lazio. When did this transformation occur? Guys must have started being brought in very early.
I thought Pitt was still a work in progress? At least I don’t recall a formal breakdown of the ancestry of the membership, but maybe you posted it and I forgot.

I have three I would add to the 1963 list:

Anthony Sandrelli
Gennaro Selvitella
Orlando Napolitano

35 names out of 42 completed...
3 Calabrians
19 Campanians
4 Lazio
2 Puglia
7 Sicilians

So far, NE is the LEAST Sicilian.
So far, NE is confirming my expectations. In the modern era, NE and the Genovese definitely seem to have been the least Sicilian families, though we have yet to dive into Pittsburgh which should also be very interesting.

Though he wasn't identified until 1983, the obscure Aragonese member Salvatore Giglia was likely made by 1963 based on his age:

I don't think you need to show transfers, as Patriarca indicated he inducted them on behalf of the Genovese Family. They didn't seem to be "true" NE members. Guessing the close relationship allowed Patriarca to stand in on their behalf for ceremonies.

John Nappi was the only Maine-based LCN member that we have. MMCharts has his DOB as 1923 to 2003 but this individual is John Nappi Jr. his father Giovanni "John" born 1896 in Vignola, Napoli, Campania and died in 1967 could very well be him too. Do we have -- just checked the FBI dead list:
"NAPPI JOHN d. approx 1966 per Scarpa LCN." So it was the father and not the son, so Maine might have had an early hub which faded before the 1960's came around. The Nappis appeared to always be Maine-based.

Family is still around. "in 1933, Giovanni (John) Nappi established one of the many distributorships that opened after Prohibition. It was in that organization that Frank Sr., Nick, and Sam Nappi learned about the beverage business."

Really? I have him on the Genovese chart. Do you know the status of Salvatore Iacone? Also, would you mind going over the Genovese thread list of members and pick out anything you find questionable? Grazie.
PolackTony wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 9:47 amI’m not sure about the affiliations of the Worcester guys that you named here, but the city had both Genovese and New England members. I believe it was Vinny Teresa who claimed that Patriarca said that while Worcester was technically his territory, he shared it out of respect to Vito.

My understanding is that Nick Camerota was a Genovese soldier under Cufari. I’m not aware that the NE outfit had any members based in Springfield, but what do I know. I’ve also never heard of any Gambino presence in Worcester.
Well, we have members of both Gens and Pats in Worcester so that appears to be true. Also, Patriarca was born in Worcester and his family is from Lazio. Re. the Gams, I don't know if they were in Worcester or not but they did have a presence up in CT, we'll find out.
B. wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 2:40 pm Nicky Bianco was made in 1963 at a New York ceremony presided over by Patriarca and remained with this Family until 1965 when he transferred to the Colombos. He should be on the list as a NYC-based member.
Added.
B. wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 2:34 pm Patriarca was recorded saying he inducted Panarelli, Mario Fiore, Scibelli, and six others on behalf of the Genovese Family and then transferred them there.
I'm assuming this was prior to 1963 so by this point they would be Gens. So then the question begs do I show transferred members on both charts as former and current or on the family they were part of in 1963 and include an *Transferred from ___.

Aside from that, do we know why the Gens didn't just make these members themselves? It seems like this was a way to "get around" the rules, maybe the books were closed, maybe the Gens wanted to expand. There were caps on families but that doesn't account for transfers. If an entire village were to move to NY and wish to transfer their affiliation to the Gams it would be within protocol to do so despite adding (we'll say) 20 new members that aren't replacing deceased ones.

it appears the Worcester and Springfield faction or factions of LCN were lumped into both the Genovese and Patriarca Families- here are the ones listed in both along with Cufari and Scibelli:

Nicholas Camerota GEN Springfield, MA - Salerno
James Collaro GEN? Worcester, MA - Napoli
Chester Iacone GEN? Worcester, MA - Crotone
Salvatore Iacone GEN? Worcester, MA - Crotone
Carlo Mastrototaro GEN Worcester, MA - Bari
Cosmo Panarelli GEN Worcester, MA - Puglia
Thomas SanFratello GEN Worcester, MA - Sclafani Bagni, Palermo
Francis Santo GEN Worcester, MA - Potenza

Do we have evidence that that points which direction their affiliation was? Worcester could have been an extension of Springfield or they separate factions. The cities were 50 miles away. Worcester could have been affiliated with one decina or these men could have been members of different family decinas who lived in Worcester. Their mostly mostly mainland roots makes them a toss up between Gen and NE but the Gambinos can't be ruled out.
