The offer - accurate??

Post by JeremyTheJew »

During the snow storm that’s about to hit I’m gonna try and watch the whole season of THE OFFER

How is it accurately?? Did we ever look into the series??? Micheal Franz did a show on it but I didn’t want to watch it till I seen the show

Off the bat they making it seem Colombo worked for bonanno but obviously limited time to explaining so it is what it is

Also imma check out TULSA KING I think

The Offer isn’t meant to be accurate nor does it try to be but it’s a good show, I enjoyed it.

There’s a thread or two on Tulsa King in that same section.

Tulsa King was worth checking out when they were giving it on TV if the Sunday Night Football game got boring, but they did the whole bait and switch thing and gave us a taste on TV and want us to see the rest on Paramount Plus. I caught like an episode and a half and it wasn't bad. Wasn't anything groundbreaking but it fits the mold of the other Taylor Sheridan shows that are on Paramount right now...which are entertaining and take place in cool locales (places I normally wouldn't see or know nothing about... like Tulsa, or Montana, etc.) - but just like every other Sheridan show it gets a little hamfisted and they beat you over the head with "anti woke" writing crowbarred into it for no reason other than maybe to preach to the choir watching. Felt like Stallone was a cunt hair away from saying something like "when I went to the can 30 years ago there was just a womens room and a mens room! That's all we had! This young generation doesn't know what they're doing!" -Sheridan goes the extra mile to wedge shit like this into all of his shows, not to the detriment of anything, but it's just transparent and corny.

Anyway, wouldn't expect ground breaking LCN content with Tulsa King but it is entertaining and not bad...

So it's the opposite of every other show that wedges in "woke" shit to gain internet points? Lol

eh....still kind of the same idea at the end of the day lol. I'd say both are heavy handed, performative, and corny - but at least on the Sheridan shows I mentioned above, it's a little more tolerable because a character will just go on a random rant, beat you over the head with it, and that's it. I don't watch a lot of 'woke' shows (jesus christ do I hate that word, and the abuse of that word in the lexicon. I feel like an asshole even typing it. I hope the word disappears in 2023) but some glimpses I catch of the big Network shows are ridiculous in obviously trying to check every box, that I can't even begin to take it seriously. With something like Yellowstone the rhetoric will get wedged in for a minute or two and then it's back to business... it's not done to the detriment of the series, unlike the shows trying to check every box and act as a solution in search of a problem
