Also wanting to include Montreal for the sake of being thorough. Maybe with a disclaimer about their status being unknown. Alfonso Gagliano is the only remaining confirmed Bonanno member at the time. Also listing guys Daniel Renaud identified as hommes d'honeur, though I'd very much be surprised if it turned out guys like Pietrantonio or Scoppa were Bonanno members.
Montreal
- Alfonso Gagliano
- Francesco Arcadi (possible member)
- Lorenzo Giordano (possible member)
- Antonio Mucci (possible member)
- Antonio Pietrantonio (possible member)
- Andrea Scoppa (possible member)
- Rocco Sollecito (possible member)
- Antonio Vanelli (possible member)
- Antonio Volpato (possible member)

Is there anyone I've missed? When it came to captains I stuck with guys who were ID'd in the VOSR reports from meetings in that year.
Also, what's the source for Robert Caroleo's membership? I've found at least one supporting source for everyone else.

Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
Wasn't Damiano Zummo acting captain when he conducted the ceremony in Hamilton in November 15, 2015?
For Montreal, other possible members would be Vincenzo Spagnolo (murdered 2016) and Emmanuel Ragusa (died 2018)

Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
I also doubt that Pietrantonio was a member of the Bonannos. I think the same for Lorenzo Giordano.
Noted that the membership of Gagliano is also quite questionable and is debated among confirmed researchers such as Cedilot & Noel or within the RCMP. I think it comes from the fact that only Lino has to talk about it.
I agree for Spagnolo and Ragusa, although it is possible that Ragusa was originally a member of the cosca of Cattolica Eraclea

Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
If memory serves, Zummo was serving in an unofficial capacity at the ceremony and wasn't actually bumped to acting captain until sometime in 2016. From court documents, during the ceremony he told Morena that a redacted name was their captain and another redacted name was their acting captain.

Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
Alfonso Gagliano should absolutely be on the list given Lino was formally introduced to him, was told about him by LoPresti, and identified him as the man he met via photograph. The RCMP in my opinion doesn't have a great public record in terms of organizational designations and I don't know what kind of political pressure may have impacted their view on Gagliano. I know when Pierre and I disagreed on it, it seemed like we had a fundamentally different view of what traditional mafia recruitment entails.
I think your Montreal list is as good as any based on available information (which isn't much). Pietrantonio is one of the men who sided with Montagna, which is an indication he was a possible member or at least associate whose loyalty to the Family was petitioned.
For Giordano, if it's true he was made in 2004 we have information (thanks to Chin) that the Bonanno Family and Montagna were actively working with Montreal at that time and afterward, as evidenced by Montreal requesting that Massino's associate Vincent Vertuccio be placed on record with Montagna apparently in relation to some kind of Canadian activitity: https://theblackhand.club/forum/viewtop ... 1&p=231071
Great work Chin.

Is Basciano Jr. a member? He was a proposed member in the early 2000s but was still an associate at the time of his 2013 arrest.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

I recall this being disputed before by Bronx aka westside on gbb? Seems to be up in the air but I assume he would be. Don't think theres solid evidence either way though.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 5:34 pm Is Basciano Jr. a member? Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
I'll need to check my notes again on Basciano Jr. There's a court document that either lists him as being with Ernie Aiello in the early 2010s or a member of his crew. I can't remember which off the top of my head so I'll check again.
I put Basciano Jr on the list based on information from Gene Borrello. This is what he said in the mugshots Q&A about Basciano's sons:

Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
If a Canadian mobster farts in the forest and there isn’t an American LCN member around, does anybody hear or smell the scoreggia?
Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
Doesn't matter who smells it or whether they bottle it and send it to NYC or keep it to themselves, if you're with a Family that's who you're with in terms of formal recognition within the network.
I'm sure Chin is operating from the POV for this chart that we lack intel that substantially counters the belief that inducted members of Cosa Nostra in Montreal have affiliation with another group outside of those with Sicilian mafia affiliation.

Lol... To be fair to the guys... they are doing a Bonnano chart.
Now if we do an assessment of the Organized Crime landscape of Quebec province... thsts a different thing entirely...
@Chin
You really think the Scoppas were made? I think he would have said so in the book.....
Re: Bonanno 2015 chart (work in progress)
Agree 100% "the Bonanno question" is a footnote in discussions of Montreal organized crime and their networks of relationships.CabriniGreen wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 1:48 amLol... To be fair to the guys... they are doing a Bonnano chart.
