The meeting between Gotti,Gravano,Amuso and Casso

Post by Little_Al1991 »

This version is from Anthony Casso’s book. I take this with a grain of salt but this is the only version of this meeting available.Hopefully Sammy talks about this on his podcast. This meeting took place on 8/12/88.

“Anthony,” Gotti said, “I’m glad we finally managed to sit down and break some bread. Let’s do it more often.”“I’d like that,” Casso said.“Problem is, there’s all these . . . rumors out there, about you, about me, and it’s easy for misunderstandings to be created—this is something we need to avoid.”“I couldn’t have put it better myself,” Casso said.

Casso actually liked John Gotti. He felt he was an “old-world mafioso” who he kept his word. There were so many people in LCN whose word was worthless. John Gotti was not one of those people. However, John Gotti did have issues. One was his monumental ego. Casso felt that Gotti more often thought with his ego than with the very clever brain he had.

Neither Amuso nor Gravano had much to say. Both Gaspipe and Gotti were in charge. When they were ready to go, Casso called for the check.“Let me get it,” Gotti said, and insisted on paying.

When they stood up, they each kissed each other on the left and right cheeks and embraced, as is LCN custom. To an outsider, they looked like friends—they looked like they enjoyed each other’s company.
