Original Gangsters podcast w/ Tim White (Feb 21)
Original Gangsters podcast has been doing as it seems discussing mob regions past present feature.. they did one on New England and a few things I found interesting and some we all already know: some statements from tim white:
•Tim White says the power structure has fluctuated between federal hill in providence and Bostons North End.
•Current power structure is in North End
•The govt has legalized so much of what they do how much power they have can be debated.
•He mentions Matty Guglielmetti and says there is some pushing and pulling going on there..that would mean he's active somewhat I got from that (that statement was played within the first 5 minutes of the podcast)
•he doesn't know if they are opening the books all that much anymore and rely heavily on associates
•BlackJack Del Santo has been out of the game for a while prior to his death
•says there is about fewer than 10 made guys in Rhode Island, again he said Rhode Island and stated that was an ''important distinction." He says it's "astonishing" to how few made guys there is in RI now compared to the 90s.
•Cadlliac Frank aligned himself with the providence guys when he got out of my prison Scott said and Tim White agreed which caused a major rift
•Dinunzios are labeled as the boss and Eddie Lato possibly UB seems to be
I didn't get through the whole thing yet those were some of the most things that were discussed in present times
Matty G being somewhat involved is what I found most intriguing at least that is what I interpreted as.

Amazed by Scott's ability to riff about New England and keep up with an NE expert. He does it every episode. Best show out there.
Re: Original Gangsters podcast w/ Tim White (Feb 21)
6 known members from what I can tell...*cough* attrition *cough*
If Lato is underboss, interesting how they will still fill the top two spots with someone from both Boston and Providence.
All roads lead to New York.
Re: Original Gangsters podcast w/ Tim White (Feb 21)
I'm assuming they emphasized Rhode island in the podcast they meant not including boston or mass in general. Under 10 sounds low but realistic # imo based on what we know not what we don't know.
Re: Original Gangsters podcast w/ Tim White (Feb 21)
They also stated how it was basically a race to rat first in the 90s and how Frank Salemme didn't give up Bobby DeLuca in the disarro hit (I believe it was) but DeLuca gave up Salemme. Salemme was pist when he found out Bulger was an informant and seemed to allude to that was one of the reasons why Salemme rolled.
Also, rumored of a state grand jury on the Hanarahan hit. Tim White said how popular that downtown spot was in that area where Hanrahan got hit and says there had to be witnesses but no one has come forward yet.

Yes, they were specifically talking about Rhode Island when it comes to the small numbers. Boston still has 20 or so. Just by sheer attrition it makes sense that's where the power base would be now.

The Anguilos were the #2(s) behind Patriarica which I find to be crazy considering how powerful they were in their own right. I kinda of just always assumed they were kinda of there own family within a family I guess. The Boston, Mass/RI cosa nostra went down hill quick. Thinking about it from that perspective imo it's one of the quickest falls i have seen from the mob being in control of so much to being in control of so little in such a short period

I've said before that, up through the 2000's, they were as active as any family outside New York. Big drop off over the past decade though. But honestly, I don't see much (if any) difference between them and New Jersey or Chicago. And Philly is only a little different, relatively speaking, because of the younger ages.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:25 pmThe Anguilos were the #2(s) behind Patriarica which I find to be crazy considering how powerful they were in their own right. How did Salemme meet Deluca after he got out of prison?
I thought that Salemme was furious that Flemmi was an informant for all these years and that's why he rolled.
Was Frank protecting his son, his brother and Deluca when he refused to come clean about the Disarro hit?

So I was referencing when Salemme got out of prison early 90s I believe it was. This was way before he flipped. He did a stint in prison and after he go out he got made eventhough Patriarica Sr. Had him do alot of his dirty work he was against Salemme being made bc he wasn't full Italian. But when he go out SR. had passed. At least that was my understanding from the podcast. He grew up Sharon I think they said which was a mix of Italians and Irish. Salemme was protecting his brother jack as was DeLuca who was protecting his brother Joeydavidf1989 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:41 pm How did Salemme meet Deluca after he got out of prison?

Thanks for your message and was Salemme involved in many murders with Flemmi such as the Bennett Brothers?
Did Salemme start his criminal career working for the Bennetts and Zannino?
was baby shacks a friend of the Salemmes?

I’m not as certain what Sharon’s demographics were before the 90’s as I am the past 30 years but it’s been one of the highest % Jewish population suburbs in Boston since at least the early 90’s when I grew up in a town nearby.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 7:48 pmSo I was referencing when Salemme got out of prison early 90s I believe it was. Frank is in his 80s now. So this was before the 90s. Considering Frank is half Irish himself the neighborhood he grew up was probably mixedSouthshore88 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 8:34 pmI’m not as certain what Sharon’s demographics were before the 90’s as I am the past 30 years but it’s been one of the highest % Jewish population suburbs in Boston since at least the early 90’s when I grew up in a town nearby.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 7:48 pmSo I was referencing when Salemme got out of prison early 90s I believe it was. Frank grew up in Roxbury not Sharon. He bought a house there when he got older, but def did not grow up there. Thats how he and Flemmi were so close they both grew up in Roxbury. Almost certain Salemme went to JP High when that was still a school.
If nobody sees it, it didn't happen.
