Captain giving an order to a soldier in another crew

Post by Tonyd621 »

For example in the sopranos when imperioli gives robert funaro an order to go whack that guy in boston, but funaro says he will run it by gannascoli (vito) first... and imperoli indirectly in no uncertain terms its an order and dont mention it to vito... so can a captain from another crew order a soldier to do something without the other captain okaying it...is that normal? Or is that just a tv show?

Good question. It would be a rare occurrence you’d assume. Possibly more common in the smaller families.

I mean if he did run it by vito anyways, would there be repurcussions?

Most definitely. A capo can’t give an order to a soldier he doesn’t “own”. I never understood why in the Sopranos, Chris gave Eugene the murder contract. He had no capable shooters in his crew? Never made sense.

Ohhh there would be consequences for imperolis character not funaro? I thought maybe since funaros character wanted out and maybe nobody wanted to drive to boston to do a hit they planned on convincing him to do it in lieu of the possibility of "getting out?"
I mean it makes sense what your saying that imperoli would have consequences to asking a soldier in someones else crew to do a piece of work like that...

Massino was upset with Vincent Basciano when he used Bruno Indelicato, who was in Willie Riviello’s crew, for the murder of Frank Santoro in early 2001.

Massino just chewed out Basciano and Bruno. He told Basciano not to do it again, but didn’t really do anything.

From the way he talked about, it seemed like it was a rule that Basciano broke, he just wasn’t disciplined for breaking it.

Santoro: Oh No!
Basciano: Oh Yes!

Bang bang.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

File Santoro threatening Basciano's kid under poor life decisions.

Massino seemed to hear a lot about Basciano's petty rule breaking and transgressions after the fact, and ultimately never did anything beyond giving him an earful... but then again he went out of his way to wire himself up, entrap, and then rat on him, so there's that i guess
