6 carabinieri arrested in Piacenza: torture, extortion and permits to drug dealers to go to Milan for buy drug during Covid 19 lockdown.
Drugs, torture and extortion. But with the uniform on. Six carabinieri were arrested in Piacenza, five in cells and one under house arrest, and one of the Arma barracks in the city - the Levante station in via Caccialupo - was seized and it is the first time this has happened in Italy. "
The barracks of horrors
To uncover Pandora's box on the barracks of horrors was an investigation by the prosecutor and the finance guard. The toll is very heavy: 12 people arrested - 5 carabinieri and drug dealers -, 5 at home - 1 carabiniere and 4 drug dealers -, 4 people subject to the obligation of presentation to the judicial police - 3 soldiers and a financier - and finally another carabiniere subject to the obligation of residence in the province of Piacenza.
The list of offenses alleged against the military is endless: drug dealing, receiving stolen property, extortion, illegal arrest, torture, aggravated personal injury, embezzlement, abuse of office, disclosure and use of office secrets, ideological falsehood committed by public officials in public deeds, arbitrary personal search and inspection, aggravated private violence and fraud against the state. In the Piacenza Levante barracks, the investigators explained, 8 soldiers were operating: 7 of them were subjected to a precautionary measure.
Drugs in Milan during the covid
The military, even and above all by exploiting their role, would have set up a sort of personal drug store. Finance writes in the note: the carabinieri dealt with the "contacts with drug dealers", "the relay activity on behalf of the drug dealers", the "custody and detention of drugs" activity, the "drug dealing on own account" and "drug supply during Lockdown".
According to the prosecution, in fact, during the lockdown for the coronavirus emergency, the carabinieri had provided false self-certifications to the drug dealers from Piacenza to allow them to reach Milan to obtain supplies of drugs.
Illegal arrests and beatings
Not just drugs, though. Because as true masters of the city, on several occasions the carabinieri would have arrested free citizens without evidence just because they were considered alleged drug dealers to whom they would actually steal drugs. And in the same barracks there were also kidnappings, beatings to a handcuffed man and violent ways.
"These are serious facts that do not affect trust in the weapon," specified Piacenza's chief prosecutor, Grazia Pradella. "All the most serious offenses were committed in the lockdown, with the utmost contempt for the decrees issued by the Prime Minister. Only one military man from the barracks is not involved. I struggle to define these subjects as" carabinieri "because the behavior is criminal. there is nothing legitimate in behavior, "he later admitted.
"What the prosecutor must ask himself and what the Arma must ask himself is how it was possible that an officer of the carabinieri with a Gomorra-style attitude has acquired all this power," the prosecutor reflected in conclusion.
