Does anyone have articles from the 2001 Philly Mob trial?

I'm compiling all of the articles I can find from the Inquirer and the Daily News from when the trial began on 29 March to when the verdicts came in on 21 July.

It's a big job, so it's taking a while but it will be done soon. It's already at 52,000 words

Finally done. Was originally just planning on copying and pasting them here but it quickly became apparent that this was far too big, so I had to just put it into a .pdf and upload it in the FBI Files section. Covers the beginning of the trial at the end of March 2001 to the verdicts arriving in July 2001. 170 pages and about 100,000 words. Should keep you busy.

Interesting how Natale testified that according to him, Borgesi fed information to George Anastasia when it served his interests.

Never heard that one before and it would explain a couple of things.

Thank you for putting that all together, brought back some memories from when that crazy circus of a trial was going on back when I was in High School.

That changes a lot, especially considering Anastasia's recent flipflops around whether Borgesi is legit or not. Would love to hear the Philly experts weigh in.

Thats exactly what I meant. The flip flopping on Borgesi raised a few eyebrows, and apparantly they know each other quite well.

Also, Anastasia really went down a notch as a journalist in my book when he took the money grab and wrote that bullshit Alite book.

Anastasia later confirmed Borgesi was a source btw, it's all in there good stuff.

One of the things I found the most interesting when I went through some of these back when I started diving more deep into Philly research was about Caprio's involvement in other murder conspiracies for Scarfo and Merlino:
- Caprio agreed to kill mobster Harry Riccobene during the early '80s mob war with boss Nicodemo "Little Nicky" Scarfo, but the hit never came off.
- Caprio also agreed to kill mob turncoat Philip "Crazy Phil" Leonetti, a one-time Scarfo underboss who was to visit his ailing grandmother in Atlantic City.
"It was hot, a bad place to do murder. There was no place to hide and we couldn't ambush him," testified Caprio. Merlino called the hit off, he said.

Leonetti talked about that in his book with Scott, saying he heard Merlino's people were looking to hit him when he stayed at his grandmother. Something about being ready for them but they never showed up lol. Because Phil is just bad motherfucker 😁

Also, at one point Little Nicky phoned his mother from prison and Phil's mom picked up lol. I'm sure Scarfo was nothing but polite.

Joey was sending people to scout Nicky Jr in the 1990s as well to hit.

I've compiled Anastasia's articles for the Inquirer from 1994 here:

Well I mean you aren't paying the mans bills and your respect certainly isn't paying his mortgage. Doubt he was making much money off the mob talks.
