I find it hard to believe anyone out there in the game who wants to kill someone is going to hesitate because of the mere existence of plain clothed cops.

Of course there are other factors but this is a major major factor. The Plain Clothes Unit did most of the heavy lifting for the NYPD when it came to getting guns off the streets of the worst neighborhoods. It's murders galore out here again, back to pre giuliani levels of not giving a fuck. Not sure how this move helped do anything but hurt the black community because they're the ones getting shot by the dozens every weekend.

Just filtering it through reality, I can't imagine anyone in a life of crime out there hesitating to kill someone because of law enforcement logistics. I can see things like theft and looting going up during police cutbacks. That's a no brainer. But murder? Nah. Anyone determined to take someone's life is probably going to do it, or at least try to do it, no matter how many cops are running around out there in Hawaiian shirts.

In Baltimore after the Michael Brown BS, the cops discontinued foot patrols in uncivilized areas. Murders skyrocketed to record levels. Black Lives Matter, so with those pesky pigs out of the way, blacks can kill more of them.
