Tino Fiumara and DeCavs
Is there any chance that Tino and his NJ crew was stronger than DeCavs back in time?

Yes because they controlled port Newark back then.. Back then they were able to shake down anyone doing biz at the port(trucking co's etc, cargo co's really almost everything.)...not just the Longshore Union like today. They had much more control of the whole port back then. They are still there don't get me wrong. But no way near to the extent as the power once was down there. Since they controlled everything back then they were able to bring in Trucking Co's tied to other families for a fee . etc Majuri's had trucking interests in the port as did TUMAC back in the day. It all went thru Tino's crew.Jimmy Napoli wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 7:50 am Is there any chance that Tino and his NJ crew was stronger than DeCavs back in time?

While I agree the hold on the waterfront has slowly been weakened, kickbacks from vendors for favorable treatment by port unions were part of the allegations in the Depiro affidavit.Rocco wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:21 amYes because they controlled port Newark back then.. All roads lead to New York.
Re: Tino Fiumara and DeCavs
Time was locked up from like 1979 till 95 or something crazy. He was probaly only made in 76 77. Did he really control the ports from prison.
Re: Tino Fiumara and DeCavs
When did he become a capo?
Re: Tino Fiumara and DeCavs

Tino Fiumara controlled 4 capos and after Bruno hit expanded his territory in the south jersey so yes he was more stronger then the Decav.Jimmy Napoli wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 7:50 am Is there any chance that Tino and his NJ crew was stronger than DeCavs back in time?

Think bobby manna was in charge of all 4 5 crews in New Jersey chin gave him long leash. Why would gatto crew or the boots old crew listen to tino. Or dentico they were around probaly alot longer. I think he was more important to the family after he got out in the 90tys. Who was the other genovese capo on that HBO in the 80tys Andy something. Think I getting at no way was 1 crew stronger then a family of 40 50 guys

And stronger is such an ambiguous term. At a sit down Tino would be hard to beat, but that’s because he was a powerful figure who had the largest borgheta standing behind him.
If by stronger you mean in some bizarro world the Fiumara crew alone went to war with the DeCav’s in the 90’s then you’re talking 10/12 buttons vs 50’n change. So clearly that’s a one way game.
But how the fucks that ever going to happen.
So they question is as vague as the answers
