The last official info on him is from 2004 when he was slistrd as a Soldier after Riggi demoted him.

did the whole family show up to riggis wake and funeral? that guy stagno was recorded saying riggi inducted some guy after he came home from prison but didnt have permission or something like that. i dont get why riggi a boss would need permission he also must have been in his 90tys. stagno was complaining riggi made that guy dog oliviri spellcheck last name. guy was pretty young

I think the guy meant permission from the Gambino family. Honestly at this point it has become one of those things that has been repeated so many times on so many different sites that it has become accepted fact. Like Nick Corozzo being the real Boss of the Gambino family back in the day. This literally started with like 2 people saying they "heard it on the street" back in 2004 and it just took off from there. Despite it being repeatedly proven wrong up to 2015 people still seem to give the claim weight. Since 2015 we don't know who the Boss is so it could be him but it could just as easily be 40 other guys.

The problem is that mafiawiki is like top research basically now and sites such as cosa nostra news (who somehow still has been the only one to name the "new Genovese street boss" , and other mafia search sjtes have just copied and pasted for content space basically
