Most Questionable Makings

Post by Targenmantarian »

Ron Previte
Bobby Luisi and his entire crew
Many Philly guys from the 90s
Veasy
Colletti (if made)

Any other ones from other families that were even at the time completely nonsensical or ill advised?

Colletti wasn't made, but you are right about Previte (ex-cop), Luisi and co. (Merlino was told by New York not to make anyone from Boston but did it anyway), and Veasey. Stanfa rushed a lot of people in in his attempt to rebuild the family and a lot of them turned on him. Obviously the plan to make Mike Ciancaglini and Joey Merlino and then kill them failed (apart from the Ciancaglini hit); Lucibello and Turchi sided with the Merlino faction; Stanfa ordered Biagio Adornetto killed just months after making him as part of his plan to replace the 'little Americans' with Sicilians; Sergio Battaglia was plotting to kill Stanfa just before they all got indicted; Previte and Veasey...

I've always thought the making of Charles Caci in LA was weird. He was a lounge singer (Bobby Milano).

Caci is exactly the type I was going for.

Any other families have just random people with dayjobs or an inability to kill or earn or a disqualifying carewr made?

I'm not aiming for non Italians. That's been beaten to death.

Lucchese member Gregory "Whitey" Cappello was made and it turned out he was a crackhesd.

Yeah so? A lot of mob guys used drugs. Anthony Graziano was a coke head and rose to the position of a consig.

I'm assuming Capello wasn't like a high functioning coke head but more just like a dude in the 90s feverishly smoking crack is what you meant.

I know Mancuso made a guy to literally give him messages.

And Angelina, Ligambis brother, and a few other of those guys have very little to offer other than loyalty.

They haven't been on trial for a murder yet or something that gets them double digits.

Angelina pled out on a racketeering case and got a good deal.

Kinda doesn't count until then.

Ligambi himself is A1.

Angelina did four and change. Respectable but there's a million drug dealers who do that every decade they are in the mix and don't rat either.

Piccolo for example or Servidio they definitely are proven. Both eating 3x that.

Not that you want anyone to go to jail. But you can't do 1200 days as a made guy and beat your chest like mighty Joe young.

I bet a lotta the smaller families have some very shaky members who are literally just the sons and nephews of made guys.

Ligambi had a life sentence overturned, so you are already terribly wrong.

Borgesi did 13, what is the point of this post??

Ligambis brother. Is who I was referring to.
I know Ligambi is A+.

And Borgesi was never mentioned by me. He has definitely killed lots of people and made lots of money and kept his mouth shut.

There are several lesser lights from that era who would have struggled to get made anywhere else.

But now that you mention Borgesi I'd say his brother also is one that probably doesn't get made on the west side but did get made in Philly.

I thought I told you to do us all a favor and go OD already.

Yeah, the Colombos made a guy that lived out in LA and was a semi-respectable real estate salesman, all because he was an associate with a brother and cousin both prospering in the family. Sebastiano Saracino had some involvement in sports betting and facilitating cross-country weed deals with his brother, but I can't see the point in flying him to New York for an induction, especially since he didn't really want to be in "the life" at all.
I don't know dick about dick.
