I had asked the question in the "General mob questions" section, but I'm not sure anyone saw it (in any case nobody answered me). So sorry for the double post, but the question intrigues me:
I have questions about the San Diego Matranga brothers (Frank Isador, Gaspare, Joseph & Liberante) :
- Were they family members of L.A. or Detroit? It seems that Frank I. & Joseph were married to Detroit's John Priziola.
-Are they cousins with Jaspere & the other Frank Matranga?
-And finally are they relatives of the black handers Sam & Pietro Matranga who themselves were relatives of the New Orleans Matranga?

Don't they still own strip clubs in SD?
Re: Matrangas San Diego
For what it's worth, the FBI submitted a hierarchy of the Detroit mob to congress in 1988 and 1990 and both times they had Joseph Matranga listed as a captain in the Detroit family. The Detroit Free Press published the chart in 1992.

Oh yes, I see what chart you are talking about. I just watched, actually he is on it. I must say that I have it in a very bad quality, I never think to look at these charts. Thanks to you and Confederate for the answers. 2 out of 3 questions resolved

Re: Matrangas San Diego
As someone else mentioned, I believe the Matrangas in Southern California are connected to the Matrangas in New Orleans, too. I'll bet a lot of the black handers in LA before the Dragna era came from the south. Seems more likely considering the transportation of that time.
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”
