Something that always bothered me was how America's Most wanted with John Walsh did a Frank Bender bust of Allie Boy Persico who was on the lam as a fugitive hiding out in upper Connecticut. They then did a segment asking viewers to call in and guess what - Allie was caught a week later. My own theory is this is the time frame Lynn del Vecchio reactivated Greg Scarpa. Scarpa then showing his worth and gave up Allie's location. Scarpa was a trusted confidant of the Persico's and would side with them during the Columbo war of 1991. I believe he was funneling money to Allie and acted as a conduit as well. By the FBI getting AMW to run that segment it took all the heat off Scarpa. You can imagine they took surveillance pics of Allie and gave them to Bender which is why that bust looked just like him. Anyone agree or disagree with my theory?

My memory is real hazzy but I believe the guy who was hiding him gave him up. I believe he was a Persico relative. But again my memory is hazzy on this.

+1 - ok and perhaps you're right Pogo but what a coincidence with Scarpa being reactivated at the same time. And Scarpa was in touch with Carmine and acted as his right hand man out in the street.

It was Little Allie Boy Persico who was arrested on that boat with the guns. He violated his parole.
