I believe his surname is actually "Poradyla." He came up under Elmwood Park but over time became more associated with Grand Avenue. Scott had an article on him. Most of the info was taken from CCC files.

Thanks, Snakes. Apparently more recent stories altered the spelling of his name. He was born in 1928 and in the 1950s he was part of a burglary gang with Frank Santucci of Calumet City and Nick Iacovetti of Chicago. They were charged for crimes in Hammond, Indiana. Married Lorraine Burnette, who died in 2006. He's 89 years old right now and will turn 90 this year.

Pordyla, along with Nick Iacovetti burglarized the Woolworth store in Rockford in early 1960 but were caught at gunpoint by a Rockford police officer. The two had stolen a car belonging to Mike Battaglia of Bellwood and drove it to Rockford to use in the burglary.

There’s not a lot of info out there about porky but snakes is correct on the real spelling of his name. He was a low key guy and an absolutely feared killer. He managed to avoid any major indictments I can only assume because he wasn’t a major player and I think he became much less active as the outfit became less active. There’s not much out there on him past the 80’s. His reputation was certainly on the level of a frank schweihs

Just to reconfirm, he is Poradyla. "Pordyla" is not an actual Polish surname, so far as I know. And he grew up in the Noble Square area (Walton and Noble), which back then was a heavily Polish neighborhood directly north of the Italian Grand Ave Patch. So he likely knew Italian guys from the neighborhood (maybe attended Wells HS which had a very large Italian enrollment, if so he would've been there at the same time as DiFronzo, Legs D'antonio, Lombardo), which would explain why he'd later fall in with that crew. Also, I've heard people claim before that Porky is half Italian, but this isn't true. Both of his parents were born in Poland. His mother may have additionally been Jewish, as her maiden name was Brandys, which is often a Jewish name.

Frank Rosenthal told federal investigators that Harry Aleman and an unidentified individual known only as "Corky" were involved in the murder of Tamara Rand. I thought perhaps he really meant "Porky". Or maybe there really is a hitman named "Corky".

Porky is still around. Saw him a couple of months ago before the corona shit at an Italian restaurant in the South Loop. Hes always there. I thought he was from Bridgeport/Chinatown. Yeah, someone told me they saw him within the last year or two by the Huron SAC as well.

I think porky is 91. I doubt he’s getting around much at all. One of the most feared guys similar to the German. He beat the system. I thought it was interesting on the marcello prison tapes he kept asking about porky. But porky wasn’t involved in any of the hits charged. So who knows how many others were out there

Porky is in his mid 70s and hangs out at a south loop restaurant with one of the guys from the balmoral race track heist. He was there literally everyday before the shutdown.

I posted earlier in the thread about Pordyla being arrested in 1960. If he's 71 that would have made him 11 at the time of his arrest with Iacovetti.

Rather if he's in his mid 70s he'd have been around 15 in 1960.
