Me, sonny, and pogo were talkin about this topic in the general mob questions section, but I’ve decided to make a whole thread for this subject. First off, i do not agree with pogo’s take. Both gene and john did 30 years, and I think it would only make sense for them on be rewarded either with an envelope, a racket, or a promotion. If gene and john dont get shit, that sends a horrible message to the gambinos lower level guys. If anyone would like to join the convo feel free to do so. Also, does anyone know the specifics of gene and john’s parole restrictions?

Now, that being said, anything is possible. Maybe they will get a loan to restart, maybe they will get access to a specific type of racket that they must work to make money, maybe this or maybe maybe that etc etc. but the Criminal Organization known as the Mafia where money flows up, not down, does not hand out free envelopes to guys who come out of prison as a form of payment for keeping silent. Maybe they get rewarded some other way, but not that way.

Mikey Paradiso, maybe Vinny Artuso now he's out. Two capo's. None of the major names you mentioned were even made when Gene and John went away so I'd doubt they are tight with the leadership.

I think there will be some opportunities to earn if they really want to jump back in. Even though the Gotti era is over, they are well known and respected amongst their peers. I’m skeptical of promotions though. Guys don’t just receive promotions for serving time. They’re too old to be assembling new crews and working their way up.

Come back to and take over again. No idea on John C though- always thought of him as a leg breaker and not an earner though so wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t have anything to come back to, but I have no idea. I doubt they’ll get auto-promotions but maybe given some rackets so they have income to come back to then yeah. I know I’m Philly with some of the Scarfo guys when they got back they were given some guys realigned to them and probably customers back to them or realigned to them...

I thought they pretty much knocked down anyone from the Gotti era besides their own people. Can’t see giving two guys promotions considering it would be breaking up other crews to give them guys. As far as envelopes that could happen Al Trucchio handed Lorenzo 30k when he came home to get back on his feet. So it does happen. But end of the day what happens is up to a small group of people not anyone else. I don’t think gene gets a promotion. John I no nothing about. I think they sit back I’m sure they both have earns going on.

I hear that. Was just giving my input. They seem pretty tight with leadership. I feel like anyone they have as skipper is close to ADMiN and they wouldn’t break any of those crews up. I’m just talking here, end of day like I said it’s up to only a few people and you’re correct when you say they don’t give a fuk who likes it or don’t
