It seems that during the old days Portlands gambling dens were operated only by non-Italian racketeers who were in alliance with the Chinese and Black criminals. For example until 1957 Big Jim Elkins and Clifford Bennett were allegedly the kings of gambling in Portland until that same year when Elkins decided to inform on his buddies. In addition, these guys were also allegedly tied to the Teamsters

I go to Portland fairly regularly and have a lot of friends there. A long history with some fairly elaborate prostitution rackets and to this day there are a lot of underground sex clubs along with the obviously thriving legal strip clubs, etc. but I've never heard of any "traditional" OC activity. Unless you count the bearded, bike-riding, IPA-drinking, cold brew-selling gluten-free crowd.
