Lawrence has a son named Joey Merlino as well. Salvatore and Lawrence's father was named Joseph. Not 100%, but I believe the Merlinos originally come from Messina, like many Italians in Philly.

Joey Merlino has a couple of sisters, one named Natalie (the Nat-Nat company was named after her) and the other Maria, who was engaged to Testa.

Skinny Joey traces his Italian heritage to the Abruzzo region at least on one side of his family. South Philly has TONS of Abruzzo Italians

Which I always found interesting as Western PA/West Virginia/Ohio had TONS of Calabrians.
