Greg Scarpa jr ?
What I know is that he was born in 1950 that had a brother Joseph killed during the orena war and was until get caught in 1995 or 1999 a colombo capo despite his father was a rat. In prison beated vic Amuso because vic said that his father was a rat; if Greg jr was free he would be killed for having punched a boss but will be in prison until 2027 despite he tipped the fbi on the Nichols aka KC unabomber secret tnt hideout.
I have some question:
When he was made ?
He get 40 y for weed traffick or other racketeering crimes ?
Why didnt whacked him after the feds said that his father was an informant for years?
Why the Luccheses didn't try to kill him ?
If he has a son,are he involved in the mob ?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Greg Scarpa jr ?
Where did u hear about him punching Amuso?
If that were true I'd assume that it was before the Orena /Persico war BC in his book he was in Admax during that time while Snr was on the street still.
I remember that he mentions snr stopped telling him as many details about the war BC he was mad at him for being labeled as a snitch.

Colombo capo Gregory Scarpa Jr. has been marked for death by the mob because he severely beat Luchese boss Vittorio Amuso in jail after Amuso called his father a rat, sources said yesterday. All five families have put out a contract to kill Scarpa, 43, because Amuso is a member of The Commission, the mob's governing body. Scarpa's father, Gregory Scarpa Sr., was an FBI informant for 30 years. "He raised his hands to a member of The [Mafia's] Commission he's got no one on his side," said a law enforcement source. Scarpa, who had been imprisoned with Amuso in Terre Haute, Ind., has been moved into solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Correctional Center for his own protection. Amuso, 60, was hospitalized briefly and needed stitches to close facial and head wounds he suffered two weeks ago in the cellblock fight, law enforcement officials said. Authorities had feared a Luchese/Colombo war and began separating imprisoned members of the two families, but sources said those fears have been put to rest. "The only blood spilled will be Scarpa Junior's. His own family cannot help him now," said one underworld source.

Wow,didnt know being a rat was that big of a deal anymore, and didnt know Amuso still had that much respect with people anymore. I figured Amuso was just boss in name only since he is never getting out of the pen.
Re: Greg Scarpa jr ?
Off topic but didn't sal.micotta smack around casso while locked up?? Luchese's getting beat up by colombos, things change behind bars
Re: Greg Scarpa jr ?

I think it's safe to say Capeci embellished some of the details in this article, or his source embellished the story to him. Where there even Five Families officially, sitting on the Commission in 95'?

Re: Greg Scarpa jr ?
You would know more than me, but I'm just asking, where did all the stories come from of there being only three families whom represented the commission at that point? This is before Massino, but authors like Raab would write about commission meetings being held but only the Gambino, Lucchese & Genovese bosses meeting around that timeframe, with those families representing the Colombos and Bonanno's.

Re: Greg Scarpa jr
In 1988 only 3 families met. The Colombos had a seat but weren't represented because Carmine Persico hadn't chosen an Acting Boss. In the early 90s the Colombos lost their seat due to the Colombo War. At this point the Bonannos hadn't gotten back their seat so there were only 3 on it. It was all moot anyway since the Commission wasn't really functioning by then. Evidently they both got it back in time for the 2000 meeting.
