Bonnano Social Club robbed over Memorial Day weekend.

Per reports, the Bonnano's social club has been robbed and hundreds of thousands of dollars were taken. This money was in fact a collection of earnings from rackets that were owed to Michael Mancuso. Johnny Joe Sprito Sr, his son and Ernie Aiello were at the Social club when this happened. More details to follow in the coming days.

If this really happened, it will kind of be the ultimate test of whether the present-day American Cosa Nostra is willing to kill the absolute worst line-crossers. Their relative lack of violence over the past decade or so is probably a contributing factor to why something like this would have happened in the first place. (That in itself is an interesting issue, the question of how their greatly reduced violence has affected their standing and reputation with the rest of the criminal underworld, much of which is still perfectly willing to kill even in the age of cameras everywhere etc.)

Why would there be hundreds of thousands of dollars within a social club? That could be easily seized by the FBI.
