Taccetta Appeal Denied
Schratwieser is reporting the judge denied the new trial request. I’m a little surprised.

Re: Taccetta Appeal Denied
That is a surprising ruling. I was wondering that if Taccetta’s appeal was successful, wouldn’t it impact the credibility of the testimony of D’Arco and Leonetti which could be used in appeals to overturn convictions? That’s a long shot but if happened for Taccetta, then it could happen for others
Re: Taccetta Appeal Denied
Hard to opine on that, but I thought the potential dental records alteration would have been enough. In terms of D’Arco and Leonetti, how many people that they put away are still alive? Probably minimal impact.Little_Al1991 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 8:29 am That is a surprising ruling. Re: Taccetta Appeal Denied
It had to be denied. And trust me, one way or another (social gathering, coincidental meeting) the judge was directed that the verdict had to stand as Ricciardi, upon his cooperation, confessed there was never a meeting or meetings with Leonetti regarding Craparotta; in fact, Ricciardi stated every word of Leonetti's testimony was fabricated. Al D'Arco obviously lied in that he suddenly recalled a murder not noted in prior 302s. Some don't know, but an alibi witness set to testify for the defense reneged after the IRS began investigating him (suddenly). Leonetti, aside from this trial, really offered no direct evidence that was new in any trial. He was given a ride as he was, and is, willing to lie; and to demoralize the Philly Crime Family to create more cooperators. We live in a very corrupt country - maybe the worst - in recent recorded history; we just hide it a little better around all of our propaganda around liberty, democracy, etc. You're free, until you make waves; then your set up for assassination or prison.

Mikey Scars has said publicly that Al Darco lied on him for a murder. So not surprisingoutfit guy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 11:03 am It had to be denied. you do realize that Martin was found not guilty on the murder ? Martin turned down a plea , he can only blame him self although he tired to blame his lawyeroutfit guy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 11:03 am It had to be denied. They were all given pleas and Tommy was to take the brunt. To get at Tommy, they refused the pleas believing they would be acquitted. There may be an audio of one meeting with Tumac and JC still alive. Leonetti outright fabricated testimony. I believe both Taccetta were offered 8 years (maybe no parole); Tommy agreed to 15 with no parole. They tried to set him by paying someone for false testimony. They're no angels. Question is, was he the getaway driver? Highly likely unless it was John Redman and he later murdered. There are few the group would trust on a hit.

there were wire taps of Joe sodano talking about the exortion that were played in court basically giving some credence to leonetti back story about the extortion , wheather leonetti lied who knows , you have a bunch of guys all grasping at straws, outfit guy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 12:23 pm They were all given pleas and Tommy was to take the brunt. , can riccardi word even be trusted ? did he really kill crapotta ? he plead guilty to it although the defense claims only so he could get a deal , didn't the defense team submit fake affidavits from ricarddi at some point year ago ,
if riccardi did kill him then that may give more credibility to Leonettis story ,

I believe Ricciardi was swinging the instrument with at least one other individual that is free and "retired" today. Ricciardi hated JC as he was given zero respect by the elder man. None of this was necessary. It was done out of emotion and anger. Sodano is on tape, yes. Leonetti is corroborating tapes based on one meeting. He also cited - I believe - other meetings and hearsay, all of which Ricciardi, upon cooperating, refuted. Thereafter, to keep this get-out-of-jail card, he fabricated anything the FBI needed, just like Leonetti. The FBI believes this justice for unsolved murders MT was a part.Stroccos wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 3:40 pmthere were wire taps of Joe sodano talking about the exortion that were played in court basically giving some credence to leonetti back story about the extortion , wheather leonetti lied who knows , you have a bunch of guys all grasping at straws, outfit guy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 12:23 pm They were all given pleas and Tommy was to take the brunt. Oh, Gravano brings up a story that he "chased" Ricciardi from a cooperators' table in a cooperators' section of a prison. Can assure you, Ricciardi would fuck him up. He was a killer and fairly good with his hands.

Re: Taccetta Appeal Denied
Didn't that Joey Giampa beat his trial because D'arco lied on the stand? I'm forgetting the exact details but it was about something written on a piece of paper or something and Al claimed it was a reference to the Salerno murder, but Giampa's defense provided evidence that it was a benign reference to something completely unrelated. In the Capeci book D'Arco downplays it and just says he wasn't 100% sure but the feds pressured him to say he was. Let's just fuckin call it like it is: they suborned perjury and I highly doubt that it was the only time.Cheech wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 1:34 pmMikey Scars has said publicly that Al Darco lied on him for a murder.
