Any bio's/links for this guy to read up on dude?

Nope. Guy are removed from it by the Boss all the time.
Now, sure, but back in the day consig was elected by all members, couldnt be dismissed by the boss and was a lifetime appointment.

Except they were dismissed by the boss or even killed on the Bosses orders. Assuming he was even dismissed. He could have voluntarily stepped down for whatever reason.

TallGuy19 wrote: Fri Sep 02, 2022 8:49 am Wasn't there something in a recent Bonanno thread about official consig being a lifetime appointed and acting consig being appointed as needed?

I believe so but in reality the Boss can do what he wants.

An earlier example (before Ardito in the 70’s) in the Genovese Family where the boss appointing a consigliere was Genovese appointing Mike Miranda who was critical in securing Miranda’s faction to shore up support for Genovese’s claim to Boss after the Costello shooting.

Would argue Ronnie G for a more modern capo. Guy was doing pretty well with his crew considering all the old fashioned mob shit they where doing. Millions in drug deals and gambling rings

I know Gene Borrello isn’t a reliable source but in his book he claims the amount of drug dealers, bookies and loan sharks paying up was well over 100 people. Claiming that there weren’t that many crews in NY nowadays doing it that big

Was he ever confirmed to be a capo? Didn’t it come out he wasn’t made until many years later than had been previously thought.

Not sure you info, haven't heard before. But Anthony Palumbo took over his crew IIRC. That would make Jimmy a Capo. A quick Google has multiple articles about Jimmy with the title Caporegime. FWIW.

Died in prison facing multiple murder charges with a likely conviction after his nephew rolled. Not my definition of success.

He very well could have been a capo. My skepticism is due to the fact that he is not included anywhere in the Crew succession topics. I wonder if his clout/wealth made him appear as one of those soldiers that carries a higher level of respect and/or is direct with the administration. Apart from google searches, do you have any gov't docs that show he was a capo/captain? I have also seen him named as a captain online but haven't come across any evidence that unequivocally labels him as a captain.

We’re talking about power. Gaggi had the ear of the Gambino boss at the time.. he had a big crew as well based in Brooklyn

Title of the thread is most successful, not most powerful.
