Re: 5 Family's Making Ceremonies
In 1973 a Genovese CI reported that East Harlem crew member Alexander 'Al Ross' Rosato 'made' Joseph 'Joe Stutz' Tortorici, Antonio 'Buckaloo' Ferro, and Louis 'Louie Dome' Pacella.

Additionally, Gambino member Joseph 'Jo Jo' Manfredi (1924 - 2002) was made around 1955-1957 and sponsored by Frank Luciano.

In the VladTV interview they're doing to promote their upcoming book, Mike Campi and Dan Dorsky talk about how they have a recording of Salvatore Aparo saying he was inducted at the same ceremony as Vincent Gigante. Gigante didn't like Aparo because the member who proposed Aparo slapped Gigante's father-in-law years prior.

Do we know what year Gigante was made? I know it's always been assumed he was made after shooting Costello, but I wasn't sure if there was evidence indicating it was before that.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:32 am In the VladTV interview they're doing to promote their upcoming book, Mike Campi and Dan Dorsky talk about how they have a recording of Salvatore Aparo saying he was inducted at the same ceremony as Vincent Gigante. Re: 5 Family's Making Ceremonies
Yeah, the books were closed pretty soon after Costello was shot, but by all indications Gigante was made well before they reopened in the late 70s. So he either got made immediately after the attempted hit or was already made. This meant he would have been made by his late 20s, which seems young but not necessarily for that time period.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:50 amGreat question, I really wonder when Gigante was madeSnakes wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:31 amDo we know what year Gigante was made? Re: 5 Family's Making Ceremonies
I have no evidence to point either way but I’d think especially in those days if you were going to wack a boss you’re sending a made guy not an associate. If things go wrong and the guy gets caught you want that reassurance he’s not going to talk. So I’d lean toward Gigante already having his button by that time.Snakes wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:59 amYeah, the books were closed pretty soon after Costello was shot, but by all indications Gigante was made well before they reopened in the late 70s. Surprised it took him that long to get made. Does that mean Angelo Jr. was straightened out before him?

Re: 5 Family's Making Ceremonies
I believe in Gigante's files an informant (likely Valachi) reported Gigante was made immediately following the Costello shooting. Ill try and find it.Snakes wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:31 amDo we know what year Gigante was made? Re: 5 Family's Making Ceremonies
Guessing Gigante was made in 1954. About the same year as frank locascio was made in the gambinos. Or 1950 when Greg scarpa was made. They were the same age. Guys got made in there early 20tys back then

Here's the file. it says that the informant is a local bookmaker and as we can see he isn't that knowledgeable, so definitely need a better source to confirm.
