Re: Gangland news 11th may 2017
It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: Gangland news 11th may 2017
Because his claim that the other 4 NY family bosses, as well as bosses from 4 other families as far away as Milwaukee, were present at his ceremony is as unbelievably ludicrous as Natale's claim.
Yeah, Bill. Not Joe.
All roads lead to New York.

Oh, when he said Bonannos I automatically thought it was Joe. Yea if that's what Bill said I don't believe it one bit.......Soliai

None off the top of my head. But we don't have enough info on all the making ceremonies .That doesn't change the fact though that outsiders CAN be invited. Where did Capeci claim there is a longstanding rule against this?Wiseguy wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 12:51 pmOther then Bonanno's and Natale's claims, which are obviously lies, what other ceremonies are we aware of where outsiders attended?HairyKnuckles wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2017 11:14 pmOutsiders, and by that I mean members of other Families, can be invited. Have no clue why Capeci would claim It's a longstanding rule against it.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2017 11:39 amI don't think you could find a better textbook example of a "wannabe" than Danny Provenzano. Decent score with the Genco name though.
According to Capeci it's a longstanding rule.johnny_scootch wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2017 3:32 amWiseguy is this a legit confirmed rule because I've never heard it or read it? While its obviously not common place to have a member from another family present I didn't know it was strictly prohibited.
There you have it, never printed before.

In his book The Idiot's Guide to the Mafia, page 318.HairyKnuckles wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 10:28 pm None off the top of my head. "As Bill Bonanno knows, only family members can attend an induction ceremony. Not La Cosa Nostra members but members of that family. Every FBI informer, every Mafia turncoat, every organized crime expert who has ever testified about it in federal trial has made that clear, from Joe Valachi on down. This information was confirmed at two inductions that were tape-recorded by authorities. There have been several occassions where mobsters were excluded from induction ceremonies of their sons or brothers because they were being "made" by other families."

I don't think that book should be taken that seriously. At least not in the segments where he tries to be clever, combining humor with facts. His funny facts sinks his credibility in my opinion. And I'm sure others agree.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2017 9:09 amIn his book The Idiot's Guide to the Mafia, page 318.HairyKnuckles wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 10:28 pm None off the top of my head. Whether you like him adding humor or not, what he said on the subject stands. I don't see much reason to question it when nobody can think of any credible examples to the contrary. In fact, I don't know where you got the idea that outsiders could attend initiation ceremonies, HK.HairyKnuckles wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2017 12:01 pmI don't think that book should be taken that seriously.
