That was not his house. His house was much more modest. The one posted was around the corner so that’s probably where the confusion stems from.

This was identified as his home when he lived on Forest Rd in Pelham Manor. I think one of his kids own it now.

I don't remember the details but some were saying this was a Google satellite search that happened to catch Bellomo (right) and one of his sons.

When was he made anyway? I heard on one of the mafia sites he was made when he was 20 years old, someone clarify this.

Isn’t that an unusually early age to be made ?

Yep, his son posted it on his social media:

Likely no more than he has to be. The 2016 Gangland News article identifying him as the boss said that he relayed orders through DiChiara. Probably doing the same thing with Ragusa now.
All roads lead to New York.

Take it for what it’s worth, but in one of their Q&A sessions, someone asked Borrello and Alite who was the most powerful gangster from their era, and Gene without hesitation said “Barney from the Bronx”. He said that was always the name he heard when the topic was discussed amongst other guys in the life.

Gene has also said things to the effect of “your boss Barney hated me, wanted me dead” when talking to Genovese guys. Anyone know the back story?Amershire_Ed wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 6:20 pmTake it for what it’s worth, but in one of their Q&A sessions, someone asked Borrello and Alite who was the most powerful gangster from their era, and Gene without hesitation said “Barney from the Bronx”. I got the impression that it had to do with Gene's cowboy ways, robbing whoever and what not. Hopefully he'll go into more details if he does write that book.sharpieone wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 10:19 pmGene has also said things to the effect of “your boss Barney hated me, wanted me dead” when talking to Genovese guys. I agree. I have wondered that about Barney. A boss who isn’t around, isn’t meeting with members, isn’t being a leader in the traditional sense. He’s the boss in title. We all give him praise as the best boss but what does he actually do?

Re: Most low-key mob boss today?
I think the Genovese have operated that way for over 3 decades... maybe when guys get made they’re told that Who’s his captain, the boss, Consiglieri, and UB. I was watching a podcast & a former street guy that ran with the Gambinos heard that the Genovese don’t report who’s who or what rank, they just say who’s made & who isn’t and that’s it.
