Think bobby manna was in charge of all 4 5 crews in New Jersey chin gave him long leash. Why would gatto crew or the boots old crew listen to tino. Or dentico they were around probaly alot longer. I think he was more important to the family after he got out in the 90tys. Who was the other genovese capo on that HBO in the 80tys Andy something. Think I getting at no way was 1 crew stronger then a family of 40 50 guys
Agree.
And stronger is such an ambiguous term. At a sit down Tino would be hard to beat, but that’s because he was a powerful figure who had the largest borgheta standing behind him.
If by stronger you mean in some bizarro world the Fiumara crew alone went to war with the DeCav’s in the 90’s then you’re talking 10/12 buttons vs 50’n change. So clearly that’s a one way game.
But how the fucks that ever going to happen.
So they question is as vague as the answers
Well...
If in some weird world that happened in the 90s where tino went against the decavs... it would still be tino wins bc hed have the backing of the whole family, right?? I doubt they would just allow a crew to go to war.
But, with that being said, in terms of power.... a sit down would really be the way one could see who's "more powerfull"
..
But that never happened

Idk. I wonder if chin put nyc guys in New Jersey crew or kept them all family n friend oriented. You can only have so many guys in a crew does a capo from queens propose guy but he gets assigned to a Jersey capo back then. Curious

Any info who was made in digillos crew pmac. Jersey seems to have a few big powerhouse crews.
I dont think DiGilio ever was an official captain. I believe he was made under Tommy Lombardi (the old Tieri crew) after it was merged with what was left of Gyp DeCarlos crew in the early 1970s. DiGilio was originally a Bonanno associate who switched to be under the Genoveses. I think it is a misconception that he was a skipper.

Wasn't john digilio tinos capo or the other way around. He was into the ports.
two different crew. two different Longshoreman Locals. Johnny D had Bayonne. Tino ran Port Newark and Elizabeth. Local 1235. Depiro is the point man for Local 1235 now.

This is correct. John was only a soldier. Was first around Joseph Zicarelli in his boxing days and immediately after he stopped boxing. Being from Bayonne Zicarelli was the guy there. Though the Genovese Family always had the port of Bayonne. The Bonanno's did not. Just gambling etc.

The Bonnano NJ crew is run out of north Arlington now ( or at least the one I know of ). Until recently they met once a week at a local restaurant off Schuyler Ave
They have a gambling package ( I think big? ), my friend was with them and according to him they haven’t been touched. One of the bigger managers hasn’t worked in years and has a Northen Nj home and a shore house and even today isn’t hurting for cash so they must be doing well ( just a guess ). Few years ago a gambler in the area got touched by a different gambling crew and they brought the agent in for questioning and that’s all the LE activity he has had in 20 years lol.
There is a shady cigar shop in the area that was running gambling / card games some nights and based on who frequents there I wouldn’t be surprised if he was working with someone. Loads of excellent Italian restaurants all around, good area to base biz out of IMO

Usually I'm familiar with NJ areas but I can't think of North Arlington...? Where is that near?
