From what we know it was Quiet Dom who decided it's time for him to go due to this and other transgressions in the past. Nick was an estranged son to him and their relationship was complicated. Nick was a petty criminal and most likely not connected to organized crime in any way other than his name. He was reported to be a junkie. The cops reported Pizzolo and another unidentified male to be involved and they knew about it because Pizzolo would get drunk and talk about this, and other things he did like kneecapping and spitting on a lucchese associate. They believe this was the last straw because he was also skimming from some of the rackets he used to operate for them and refused to relocate to Florida to look after something else for the family.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:24 am I’ve always imagined the westside called nick in for a sitdown to tell him he’s getting a pass, just to whack him. I doubt he would trust any Bonannos after the altercation with cicale, so he prob trusted his killers.

Was Castellano the one where he was shot during fireworks around the 4th of July?
Re: Unsolved Westside hits
Yeah, that's him. They killed in him in front of his home in Howard Beach. In the Sal Delligatti indictment it was revealed he was killed by unknown Genovese members because he was suspected of snitching.

It wouldn’t make any sense if Pizzolo whacked Cirillo’s kid. Why would Cirillo reach out to him to do the hit? He’s the last guy a low key old timer like Cirillo would want to hire for the job. Pizzolo was loud and obnoxious, and everyone knew his mouth was his problem.eboli wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:12 amFrom what we know it was Quiet Dom who decided it's time for him to go due to this and other transgressions in the past. I have a feeling pizzolo took credit for the hit just so people would fear him. He seemed like he was always out to prove himself.

i believe this was a part of a bigger conversation where Massino was chiding Basciano for not letting him know what was going on and for the breakdown in communication. so in that context, combined with the fact that it was the son of another powerful made guy, its understandable that Basciano would deny itslimshady_007 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 7:19 am“The footage also shows Massino gesturing with his hand like a gun while asking Basciano: 'Do we have anything to do with that [Nicholas Cirillo's murder]?'JesusMalverde wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 6:32 am quiet dom was implicated in that discussion secretly recorded by massino himself and basciano of him saying, “that came from quiet dom”. unsure whether bonanno’s or the westside did the work

I’d say that this quote proves the Bonannos had nothin to do with cirillo’s murder.
im only loosely familiar with it. was Nick Cirillo ever legally pronounced dead? what did Cicale say about it? he was right there, literally, and had cooperated on everything else. what did Cicale think happend?

Cicale said that the Bonannos had nothing to do with it. He specifically said that the Genovese told them they handled it. If my memory is correct it was from Cirillo himself while they were both in prison. There was a great breakdown of Cicale's debriefings on the whole affair posted a while back but unfortunately the search function is busted.
