No way I believe Vito fed them money after that. But who knows?

I think I read that in one of the Massino based books. They left a chair open for George as a way of saying they felt the matter of his murder was unresolved. I wouldn't call it a threat but they we're as difficult to deal with as possible for Vitale and he left without naming a new captain and basically wasted the trip up there.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2017 1:07 pmWhere does this come from?dixiemafia wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 11:24 amI definitely don't believe that, but it's been a subject for a while for those that follow Montreal. Cicale said they we're still sending money to NY so I believe that closes the case on Montreal breaking away after Georges murder. I don't see how anyone can write off what a high ranking member actually said based off an anecdote in a book that might not be true.

I was just curious as I had never read that about this situation, thanksjohnny_scootch wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 3:55 amI think I read that in one of the Massino based books. Cicale also isn't the most reliable person imo
He tried to extort Vinny's kids saying he could get him out of prison for money lol

Vitale was received accordingly in Montreal and introduced to other members. Besides Vito not wanting to be named capo, there's very little indicated by that meeting that they broke off. They wouldn't have shown Vitale around otherwise. Only the Rizzutos were mad and a little rebelious after their friend and paesano Sciascia was murdered in cold blood, which is understandible, but the crew was made up of more members than them. I don't see much reason to think that Di Maulo and the Cotroni faction were as upset about it.johnny_scootch wrote:I think I read that in one of the Massino based books. It's time some of us would try to obtain the Vitale transcription if it's available, but I'd be far more interested about what Massino had to say about it. We've been circle jerking about this paragraph from the epical Sixth Family book for too long.

The guy is a straight up piece of shit no doubt but he gains nothing lying about the montreal/ny situation and its info that can be confirmed by other sources to expose him.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 4:42 am Cicale also isn't the most reliable person imo

You make it seem as if other mobsters are honorable, lol. They are all scumbags who fucked people over or worse. Based on that logic each one of them can be considered unreliable. Extorting 'Vinny's kids' sounds like a mean thing to do were it not that Vinny's kids are in the life themselves.Fughedaboutit wrote:Cicale also isn't the most reliable person imo

Re: Bonanno captains in 2000 question
To be fair, Cicale gains a lot by saying things like that because he knows at least in our circles Montreal is a hot topic. I also don't believe him, and Massino/Vitale were back and forth it seems too. Didn't Massino say Sonny Black was killed over a power grab? Massino was known to clilp folks over any reason, but I believe it was over the Brasco embarrassment. So I would say the truth is somewhere in between.
Lupara, wasn't Sciascia distantly kin to Rizzuto? I could have sworn it said somewhere they were cousins in one of the Montreal books but I could be wrong.
But I think what Fughedaboutit was getting at was Cicale acts honorable and reliable but after all he was scummy enough to go after someone's kids. I don't know how deep Vinny's kids were but wouldn't they have been untouchable if Vinny was out? I don't think he was saying they were "innocent kids" but it shows just how nasty and rotten he can be. Hard to take his word as gospel when you would do that, tells me that you will say anything to get it printed.

And Lupara also about getting those transcripts, that would be freaking awesome. We do need to get all we can on Massino and try to solve at least what all was said. I'd also be interested in everything he said at the Rizzuto 3-capos trial too

As far as rats go, the guy is near the bottom of the scumbag list.
Sounds like you have quite the agenda, pal.

Yeah I mean, after he ratted...he tried to extort them off the pretense of getting their father out of jail, when that was never even a possibility.dixiemafia wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 11:27 am To be fair, Cicale gains a lot by saying things like that because he knows at least in our circles Montreal is a hot topic. But the guy just wanted the chance to call mobsters scumbags I guess

Re: RE: Re: Bonanno captains in 2000 question
And what would Lupara's agenda be exactly? He's not arguing that Cicale isn't a scumbag, he's just saying that's par for the course. Cicale being a piece of shit doesn't discredit what he said in relation to Montreal.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 12:48 pmNot all of Vinny's kids are in the life.Lupara wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 8:40 amYou make it seem as if other mobsters are honorable, lol. Really?
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Bonanno captains in 2000 question
That's a pretty bold and ironic statement when there are others such as Anthony Casso to compare him with. It really is a petty argument to discount a mobster's credibility when they all make a living out of extortion and murder. Some agenda you were saying?Fughedaboutit wrote:As far as rats go, the guy is near the bottom of the scumbag list.
