Bonanno captains in 2000 question
Hello. I'm rereading some stuff on Massino and I was trying to figure out who the captains of the Bonanno family would have been in 2000. So after Sciascia was killed and after Cantarella was made a captain. So the administration would have been Massino, Vitale and Spero but these are the caps I have:
Frank Lino
Frank Coppa
James Tartaglione
Richard Cantarella
Vito Rizzuto(Maybe. Might technically be Nick Rizzuto if Montreal was even part of the family at that point.)
Anthony Urso
Pat Defellippo
Anthony Graziano
But who am I missing. I'm thinking they would have had about fifteen captains at the time. So maybe Restivo, Chilli, Attanasio, Cardello?

Here are the others
Peter Calabrese
Joseph Cammarano
Jerome Asaro
Jerry Chilli
Pretty sure Joseph DeSimone and Anthony Rabito were Capos by this point as well. They were IDed as Capos by 2004.
Restivo was with Urso, Attanasio was with Calabrese and Cardello was with Asaro. Rizzuto was listed as a Soldier in the 2004 indictment. Don't know if Montreal had a Capo overseeing them after Sciascia was killed.

Re: Bonanno captains in 2000 question
Sal Vitale ID'd Vito Rizzuto as an acting captain because he refused to accept the official position, though it's not clear if Rizzuto himself was "officially acting" or if Vitale simply didn't know what else to call him. Rizzuto recommended they promote his father Nick to the position but Vitale apparently didn't accept this.

Yea Vito turned them down from the start and never took it, but it always seemed they considered Vito in charge whether he wanted it or not. He was in charge of Montreal for a long time as once he took the reigns Nick Sr. kind of stepped in the background until Vito went to prison.
If I didn't have my case coming up, I would like to come back with you gentlemen when this is over with and really lay the law down what is going on in this country.....

Based off what Cicale said the Montreal guys were still in-line with the Bonannos at least up until Basciano was acting boss

I definitely don't believe that, but it's been a subject for a while for those that follow Montreal. I'm with the consensus that everything was cut off after George from Canada was clipped by Massino. Supposedly, Vito met Vitale in Montreal with an empty chair. No way I believe Vito fed them money after that. But who knows?

Re: Bonanno captains in 2000 question
There seems to be plenty of evidence to suggest there was a continued relationship after Sciascia was killed, I'm not saying it still exists, but I don't think it just stopped in '99.dixiemafia wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 11:24 amI definitely don't believe that, but it's been a subject for a while for those that follow Montreal. I think our point of disagreement lies more in terminology.
That there was a relationship post Sciascia's murder is most likely given the evidence and testimony. The nature of the relationship though, had most likely changed with his death to one of mere lip service and decina in name only vs a fully subordinate unit.

They were still kicking up money is all that really matters and if i remember correctly Basciano even increased the amount and they still paid.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:29 am I think our point of disagreement lies more in terminology.

That's a whole lot different than officially breaking off. The way you put it now I could agree with.SonnyBlackstein wrote:I think our point of disagreement lies more in terminology.

Do we know which crew Rabito took over? I always thought he was promoted to capo in 2002, possibly over a portion of Graziano's crew after his indictment.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2017 6:19 pm Here are the others
