Denono was originally from Boston, not Chicago, correct? But worked with the Outfit in Vegas? I've often wondered whether other families viewed the Outfit as having almost separate families given some of these crew bosses operated with such independence and often interfered with each other.

If he was from Boston, that’s news to me. I’m pretty sure he was at least living in Chicago for a period and working for the Outfit there as well. Either way, I’ve always found his comment about the “families” very interesting. Of course, being that he wasn’t a made guy, he wouldn’t have had access to the actual internal organizational structure. But it’s telling that a guy, a worker, at the street level would view the major street crews as different families.

Even the DeLaurentis- Vena part is fuzzy. The FBI has not detailed who the administration in Chicago is. I believe all info concerning Outfit administration has come from Chicago Crime Commision, and Joe Fosco, the son of a past made man. The last count I have over the last 7 years has involved about 10 different names rumoured to be part of the administration. Obviously not all at the same time. Nobody knows if John DiFronzo died as the Top Boss of the Outfit or was retired as he had dementia. He could have been official with somebody acting.

2014 Fosco reported that DiFronzo had dementia and was replaced by Joe Andriacci. He noted Andriacchi was only the 4th or 5th man to hold that position. Sometime later Burnstein reported that Andriacchi came out of retirement, replacing Marco Damico as advisor to help and train DeLaurentis as boss of Outfit. So right there which scenario is true, if any. Also which job was DeLaurentis taking, the Top Boss(The Man) or The Boss??. Then a year or 2 later Venas name pops up. Is he The Boss or Underboss? My point isits still to murkey to tell who is what. Now its reported Jimmy Inendino is Underboss to Vena. Supposedly got his advisor role back, hes dead now, with another rumour Fratto was going to take his place. Even John Matassas name came up as advisor at one point. So thats a brief rundown. Is Andriacchi the top boss or DeLaurentis. Is one just advisor?

Fosco gave his opinion based on his knowledge and experience, but it was never confirmed. Since Scott is a member of this group he can speak for himself. The fact is, however, it will probably be years before any of this is confirmed as fact by trustworthy sources. The last that we have been able to confirm was that Sarno was the boss before he went to prison and Cautadella was his apparent underboss. He was kicking up to John DiFronzo, but we don't know why he was kicking up. Was it because DiFronzo was in a Paul Ricca CEO-type position and Sarno was the day-to-day boss, or was it because DiFronzo went into to business or invested with him? Later, Solly D was said to be in a high-ranking position, but it wasn't specified what his position was. Albie Vena was said to be running Grand Avenue and Elmwood Park. Until we learn more, that's where we're at. Even then, what we do learn usually turns out to be five or so years after the fact.

If a boss is kicking up to someone else, means that he is either below that same individual or as Anti said, they were in some mutual business relationship but then again, the boss should be the first or last one receiving larger part of the proceedings right? And if there were some guys like Ricca and Accardo, that same boss would kick up some of the proceedings to them too, right?

Mostly lucrative legitimate enterprises which were possibly created through corruption and long standing blood ties....

As far as illegal shit is concerned, I think they are still active but how many and to what extant are the questions that can't be definitively answered.
