It also helps explain why Marty Angelina got sent back to the slammer for violating his parole last month. Angelina, you may remember, was part of imprisoned mob boss Joseph "Skinny Joey" Merlino's crew and was convicted of racketeering in July 2001. But ever since his recent release, lawmen were documenting his conversations and "accidental" meetings with alleged mobsters Steve Frangipani, Damion Canalichio, Michael Lancellotti and reputed boss Joseph "Uncle Joe" Ligambi.

He was indicted in the big 2000 bust for being part of the stolen property ring with Merlino, Previte and Frank Gambino. His nickname is "Snitch" because apparently he once snitched on a kid when he was in school. Pretty funny nicckname for a Philly wiseguy. You know if he ever does flip the papers will have a field day with it.

It's not semantics. It's an important distinction. It's not like these other groups are part of the Philadelphia LCN, which is what joeycigars was saying. But simply other crews working with the LCN. For example, Bulger's crew up in Boston worked with the New England LCN at times but wasn't a part of it.

Thanks, Pogo. Don't think I'd seen his name pop up before. Just to clarify, is he made, or an associate?

He was an Associate up until th 2011 indictment. I don't know if that has changed. His name comes up briefly in The Last Gangster.
