i have a friend who just joined up on the forum and we were talking about CI and i said how on the board we came up w DeCicco was a CI.

i stated how he was never realy on the Castellano tspes as well as a commision case source. can we add better info to that plz??

I was the one who came up with the theory and posted the original thread. I want to be clear that in no way am I convinced that DeCicco was a CI, only that that there was a high-level Gambino CI during that period and DeCicco is one of the stronger candidates for a few reasons.

Read the linked thread. The rumor was started by a made member with a particularly tough reputation, Gus Sclafani, whose mother-in-law worked for the DA's office and had previously leaked accurate, confidential documents. DeCicco was one of the main conspirators to kill the sitting boss of his own family, so that shows he is willing to break the cardinal rules of mafia life.

On approx page 167 of Robert DiBernardo's FBI files part 3, it says Frank DeCicco was going to be indicted in the Gambino Family trial based off the Castellano tapes. However, that doesn't prove he wasn't a CI, just that he was unlucky and got caught on tape.
