I don't believe he left Chicago when he went into hiding. He certainly didn't travel from Italy to Chicago to see a dentist.
You're right. The Feds finally found Lombardo hiding in Elmwood Park, of all places. lol

Honestly I never heard that he was hiding out in Italy before these posts, so I was just saying in terms of speculation.

Your right those were old quotes from former LE officers and a stool pigeon named Cooley. Everyone that was interested in Chicago LCN news was speculating at that time period where Lombardo was hiding.

In 90% of all cases, in the end the fugitives are usually found in their home bases lol

Why don’t we write to Lombardo and ask him? From the sounds of it he’d love some company!

Yeah definitely.

He should just offer up the info for the sake of historical purposes at this point.

Besides everyone seems to think the outfit’s dead anyway!

This is mentioned on page 4 in the footnotes. Apparently he told this to Patrick Spilotro.

Good find, jmack.

Dr. Patrick Spilotro testified to a December 2002 conversation he had with Lombardo. Tr. 4974-75. Dr. Spilotro recalled Lombardo state[ing] that there were people from New York that came in and are trying to take over certain functions of the people in Chicago. . . . He displayed unhappiness to me. You know, that he wasn't happy with what was going on.” Dr. Spilotro then explained that he understood Lombardo to be complaining about members of the “New York Syndicate” moving into the activities of the “people in the Outfit or syndicate.” Tr. 4975. This conversation further demonstrates that Lombardo did not retire from the Outfit after being released from prison.
All roads lead to New York.
