LCN Bios: Gambino Sicilian Crew Info (1980s) / John Gambino
http://lcnbios.blogspot.com/2018/11/gam ... 1980s.html
Interesting details:
- Doesn't specifically say that Sicilian mafia leaders requested Antonino Inzerillo's murder, but that they sent word from several sources asking Paul Castellano if he was backing Inzerillo's actions in Sicily, which Castellano wasn't, and then he (Castellano) ordered the murder. This is limited to Gravano's info, though, so there is likely more he didn't know or didn't get 100% right.
- After capodecina Antonino Inzerillo's murder, the Gambino Sicilian crew didn't have a captain until John Gotti took over as boss and John Gambino was quickly promoted, at which point the former Inzerillo members were finally assigned to a new captain in John Gambino. However, John Gambino had been transferred to Jimmy Brown Failla's decina following Inzerillo's murder and later transferred to Tommy Bilotti's decina. The other Inzerillo soldiers weren't assigned to a captain despite being made members in NYC because of their potential ties to what was going on in Sicily; this is interesting and is a good indication that John Gambino's loyalties were more in New York than Sicily.
- Giuseppe Gambino's father-in-law was apparently a made member of the Gambino family. Maybe his name has been mentioned before -- Felice or anybody, can you ID him?
- Pietro Inzerillo and Filippo LNU identified as members of John Gambino's decina. I believe Inzerillo was already known to be a member, but wondering if Filippo could be Filippo Casamento, though I thought he was officially with the Sicilian mafia.
A lot more good info in this post; sounds like there may be more to come as well.

Giuseppe Gambino's father-in-law was indeed Pietro Inzerillo. Filippo is someone who, according to John Gotti, was born around 1928/1929. Two other made members were Antonino Napoli and a butcher who had a meat store in the 18th ave.

Do you know if Antonino Napoli is still alive? If not when did he die? Thanks Felice.

I wonder if there is any info of why the Gambino Bros came to U.S. Was it their idea or Carlo Gambino's. Did they just show up one day. Where they avoiding LE.

Would be great to see the photo. However, have to point out that Vincenzo ended up with the Lucchese family (which was some cause for dispute) and the other two I don't believe ever held a high rank. Antonino was a soldier and Gaetano was made much later and I believe remained a soldier over the years.
Re: LCN Bios: Gambino Sicilian Crew Info (1980s) / John Gambino
another soldier could have been Salvatore Inzerillo, brother of Pietro and Antonino. Salvatore is much probably still alive, his son is Frank Calì's right handman

Last time I got word about it is that the Inzerillos were upset with Calì for being arrested at his lover's house. It was very disrespectful for his wife
