Anthony Strollo and the Gallos?

I posted this article on the Gallo/Profaci war published after Joey Gallo's death in the articles thread. In it it says that Anthony Strollo of the Genovese Family was backing the Gallos/on their side until his disappearance/murder. I personally have never heard that, and have my doubts, but was wondering if anyone else might know something.

When Punchy died, Gangland said that he went way back with Gigante to when they were both amateur fighters. Apparently the Chin got Punchy with the Genoveses.
