Jimmy Angelina
Anyone have any rare info colombo murder victim and colombo consigliere vincent ‘jimmy’ angelina? Ik that he was inducted with mike franzese and that carmine sessa whacked angelina, but does anyone know angelina’s reputation, what he did that caused him to fall out of good graces with the family, and does anyone have a photo of angelina?

Re: Jimmy Angelina
One thing that always confuses me is all the variations on the spelling of his name. I've seen Angelina, Angelino, Angellina, Angellino...
In winter 1978 he and Sal Miciotta were the shooters in a hit on a guy called Americo (last name unknown), nicknamed Scotty, with John Minerva and Michael Franzese as the drivers. In the aftermath of the Commission case, Angellino was identified as a member of a three-man panel running the family on behalf of Persico until Orena was selected as the acting boss, at which point Jimmy became acting consigliere. According to the Scarpa files, he first fell out of favour because he was refusing to step down for Benny Aloi to become consigliere.

A good foto of Angelina is hard to get, but there is a foto of him in the
Colombo Family Chart 1987, where he is consigliere at the time, its anywhere on the internet to find
the bad news is that it is a little pic and you cant make it bigger

Re: Jimmy Angelina
It is spelt Angellino , there is another Jimmy AngellinA who was a Genovese member part of Rocco Pellegrino’s crew.
He was killed after being asked to poll the captains before the war started, as Sessa was asked to do the same afterwards.
Here is the only real pic Iv seen of him, he is to the left of Gerry Langella

Re: Jimmy Angelina
it was the Orena faction who had him killed. Larry Mazza writes a piece about it in his book, i dont have it in front of me but from what I remember Mazza and Scarpa had met with Angellino, who was trying to determine the pulse of the family, where people stood etc. At the time he had technically been aligned with Orena, but as Mazza writes, Scarpa didnt give him an answer because he "he didnt seem to know where Angellino himself stood". As Pogo stated, he may have been trying to make a power play. Two weeks later he went missing.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:13 amSo carmine p had him killed for polling the captins in an attempt to overthrow the persico regime?richard_belding wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 9:49 am It is spelt Angellino , there is another Jimmy AngellinA who was a Genovese member part of Rocco Pellegrino’s crew.

Sessa would later say he had whacked Angellino on Orena's orders. Sessa himself was asked to poll the captains later, and saw the Angellino story writing on the wall, so he knew he needed to align with Scarpa and the Persico camp.
Re: Jimmy Angelina
Search is still a mess on here, but I shared some info at one point about how Angellino was asked to step down as consigliere and refused which factored into his murder.

Re: Jimmy Angelina
thanks and wasn't Angellino involved in the hit on the Perainos? I think that a nun was killed during an attempt that involved Miciotta. here is an article about Angellino https://mafiabookreviews.com/2021/10/09 ... -angelina/

State v. Cagno, 409 N.J. Super. 552, 563 (App. Div. 2009).]
Rocco Cagno testified that in 1988 he and defendant were instructed to assist with the killing of Jimmy Angellino, an acting consigliere of the family. He stated that Randazzo selected Rocco s home for the execution because its layout permitted people to enter without being seen. Rocco, defendant, and others were waiting at the house; when Angellino entered, the lights went out and guns fired. When the light returned, Angellino s body was crumpled on the steps. Randazzo put the body in a body bag that he had brought with him and drove off. Rocco and defendant cleaned the scene and then disposed of the bloodied cleaning supplies in a dumpster.
Rocco testified that in 1991 or 1992 an internal struggle developed within the Colombo family. There was concern that individuals might betray the oath of silence and, in doing so, reveal the Angellino murder. Rocco said that defendant relayed to him instructions from a Colombo superior, Carmine Sessa, that he should replace the steps onto which Angellino had collapsed in order to remove any possibility that testing could reveal hidden blood stains.
