Re: Gangland - 10/25/18
dont know the exact demographics stats now, but its a lot more mixed compared to the italian stronghold it used to be. theres a lot of arabs and a good amount of chinese down there now. a little / mini chinatown is forming. lot of italian 'establishment' business are around and active and its still a nice neighborhood, not a bad place to live at all. theres just not as many middle class catholic whites anywhere in southern BK as there once was. but frankly, thats happening everywhere.
lot of people from that neck of the woods move to staten island, jersey, or even Florida. when you've been in NY your whole life and a chinese comes up offering $750k cash for your house, i can see why it'd be easy for some people to say let me get the fuck outta here and move to florida. couple places in Florida are tempting. but id much rather stay in a place like bensonhurst than be on staten island. but thats just personal preference for me

Staten Island is where a lot of the Brooklyn Italians moved to as its right over the Verrazano Bridge. I believe Staten Island is something like nearly 50% Italian across the entire borough.
Re: Gangland - 10/25/18
It is listed as 50 present white according to the censes, so all of them would have to be Italian to meet that mark. When Mob Wives was on they showed Big Ange's bar in Staten Island and all the clients seemed to be minorities.NJShore4Life wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 8:46 am Staten Island is where a lot of the Brooklyn Italians moved to as its right over the Verrazano Bridge. Re: Gangland - 10/25/18
Here are the most recent Ethnic/Racial Breakdowns of Staten Island as of the most recent Census taken in 2010:
The Whites made up 65% and of that total, 35% were Italians. The Hispanics made up a little over 17% and the Blacks made up a little under 11%.
So, as mentioned above, I wonder why so many Italian Americans left Brooklyn? Maybe somebody can give us a good Politically Correct explanation that will make everyone comfortable.

If you are going to be racist at least get your facts straight. The article never said he was RENTING and what if he was RENTING to take care of his grandma? The other guys is right there are a bunch of nice row houses that blacks bought back in the day and multiple generations live there since they are HUGE.Confederate wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 11:03 pmThe grandmother NEVER PURCHASED anything. The article never said the black Bloods gangbanger was renting.
I’m sure he had negatively geared the property to take advantage of other real estate opportunities to add to his portfolio.

Re: Gangland - 10/25/18
Another Article I read said the Apartment was being rented. Nobody has ever said he was taking care of his granny. Maybe he was or maybe his granny was taking care of him? Who knows and why would you be so upset about it anyway? All I did was laugh at the guy and I can laugh at anybody I want any fucking time I please including laughing at you being a vicodin addict.Philly d wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 8:16 pmIf you are going to be racist at least get your facts straight. This is straying a little too far off topic. Let's get back on track here.
Re: Gangland - 10/25/18
A large amount moved to Long Island. White ethnic groups become successful and typically leave urban areas. Quite a few Russians live there now.newera_212 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 9:38 pmdont know the exact demographics stats now, but its a lot more mixed compared to the italian stronghold it used to be. theres a lot of arabs and a good amount of chinese down there now. a little / mini chinatown is forming. lot of italian 'establishment' business are around and active and its still a nice neighborhood, not a bad place to live at all. theres just not as many middle class catholic whites anywhere in southern BK as there once was. but frankly, thats happening everywhere.
