Yes, good article. Everybody make mistakes. Doesn't undo the good they've done or will do in the future.
Re: Philadelphia Produce Market
Interesting about Borgesi having the lighting contract there.

Also interesting how Borgesi is referred to as a "former mobster".

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: Philadelphia Produce Market
I wonder if Borgesi/The Philly guys had anything to
Do with the skimming or if that was just Sonny D? Or did Borgesi simply get the trash carting and lighting contracts through Sonny D which shined a light on this guy Sonny D who also happened to be skimming for his own benefit? Just curious because if Borgesi was involved in the skimming then how stupid and short-sighted of him to also bring in those contracts on an operation he’s already skimming on. Pretty obvious the Feds are going to look into the contracts...

The Produce Market situation really sheds a light on just how much of a hard on the Feds have for Borgesi. Merlino is target #1 with Borgesi a close second.

Re: Philadelphia Produce Market
Which I gotta say is stunning given that both Anastasia and Capeci have reported on Borgesi attending a sitdown with Joe Bilotti in Florida, meeting with Patsy Parrello in Philly, going to Boston to see guys who aligned with them in the late 90s, Anastasia labeling him as a "street boss with his fingers in a lot of pies", not to mention there being no shortage of footage of him having walk and talks with Grande, Mazzone, Ligambi, etc, and holding court at their new clubhouse(s).Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 8:22 pm Also interesting how Borgesi is referred to as a "former mobster".

2 mob talk segments ago he said most the top guys have gone legitimate. Some posters speculated it was a move made when the Feds started working on another investigation in Philly involving Dom Grande’s crew.Chucky wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 6:07 pmWhich I gotta say is stunning given that both Anastasia and Capeci have reported on Borgesi attending a sitdown with Joe Bilotti in Florida, meeting with Patsy Parrello in Philly, going to Boston to see guys who aligned with them in the late 90s, Anastasia labeling him as a "street boss with his fingers in a lot of pies", not to mention there being no shortage of footage of him having walk and talks with Grande, Mazzone, Ligambi, etc, and holding court at their new clubhouse(s).Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 8:22 pm Also interesting how Borgesi is referred to as a "former mobster".

Re: Philadelphia Produce Market
All they have to do is look at the history of the Philly mob pre-1980s to see that most members were store owners, ran legit companies, etc. Just because these guys aren't hanging out on the street corner all day like they did in the 1980s and 90s doesn't make them retired. I'm reminded of Tony Piccolo's quote from the Goodfella Tapes about going to work every day during the Bruno era and being available when called upon. He had a fully legit contracting business that even did state work, meanwhile he was running gambling out of a country club and would step up to run the family a handful of years later. That's how the whole thing works.
