Joey Cantalupo still alive?

Post by BillyBrizzi »

Does anybody know if he is still alive?? I couldn't find anything online..

Would love to see him interviewed now, some 35 years after Crime Inc. That man is a great storyteller, my favorite mafioso raconteur:

You should check out his book 'Body Mike'.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

If he's still alive he's 75 years old (born in 1943). He appeared on Geraldo in 1990.

I wish there was someway to contact the guy and do a Q & A like with Franzese.. Preferably a taped interview, so we can see if he still has that gift of gab and to see how he has aged..

It has been ages since I've read it but I remember enjoying it. Has some good info on Joe Colombo, Funzi Tieri, Allie Boy Persico Sr and Vinny Aloi. Basically covers he early 1970s period.

His dad was good friends with Carlo Gambino and at one point he goes to Carlo to help him with a debt and Carlo tells him to beat it. It's a really good book.
