I hear you Cheech I used to love going to Tre Scalini ,doesn't have the same feel anymore haven't been there in few years ,last actual restaurant I went to over there was Consiglios pretty recently,from time to time I'll get a pie from Sallys or go to Libbys to grab a few things for my wife she likes it there. Never been to Polo but heard it was the spot back then I was only a teenager. Why did it close? Was with my uncle the other day and the guy we talked about that he's close with is opening a huge wholesale seafood business in Bridgeport with a partner thats a friend of theres I was inside the warehouse,going through it with them my uncles in charge of getting everything up to code to pass inspections. I'll tell ya these guys have legit businesses and make serious money cause at the end of the day they got a guy for everything, literally everything they will get the work done cheaper ,get supplies and the seafood cheaper than any regular joe so even though the business is legit they save money from every angle which means there also making it from every angle

Consiglio's is good, in my opinion, but it was always known for veal and I don't think it's that special any more.

Ralph "Whitey" Tropiano was a Colombo made member who was active in Connecticut in the 60s and 70s (he got whacked in 1980).

Was doing some research and not sure if it has been mentioned before, but the entire Tropiano family first lived in Brooklyn, then moved to Connecticut while Ralph and George were still boys. Not sure the story of how one ended up a Brooklyn-based member while the other was a CT-based member, but they had longstanding ties to both places.

his son still around here. we had dinner and watched the derby in the same suite at Spotshaven. a gentleman. gave me three tips thruout the day and all lost.i didnt know who he was until the guy I was with told me.
