Tortora was given a 18 year prison term, which excludes him from being made in the 1970s when the books were being opened. (Don´t know when he was released though.)
John Tortora Sr. was released from federal prison on December 19, 1983.
Thanks.

If LE described Tortora Sr and Carta as "members of organized crime" (whatever that means; it could mean they were members of a ring connected to the Mafia) back in early 1970s, then Tortora Sr (Carta killed in early 1970s) would had been listed as an inducted member on charts later made by LE in the 1980s. But he isn´t. So safely we can assume Tortora Sr was not made prior to the late 1980s.
There you have it, never printed before.

Same guy. Before that he was seen wandering the streets and babbling incoherently while waving around his latest indictment. I guess he suffered a mental breakdown after being hit with 3 major indictments inside of 6 months.

If he was he was doing it wrong. Gigante gave it up once he was already in prison. Tangorra took it up a notch and smeared shit all over himself.

And thanks for the info on Tortora Sr. HK and SB. 8-)

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

An interesting point is LE are aware of a Westside making ceremony in ‘14, which is unusual for the Genovese. It indicates there MIGHT be a rat who is the basis for charges against Tortora.
"Gangland sources" doesn't necessarily = L.E.
