Anthony Seccafico
I was talkin about murdered Bonanno soldier Anthony Seccafico just recently in another thread, so I’ve decided to give his killing its own thread. For those of u that dont know, Seccafico from what ive read was despised by many fellow Bonnanos for his cocky attitude and disrespectful demeanor. I read on a website that sal montagna was one of Seccafico’s few supporters. That’s prob true since about 2-3 months after montagna was sent away to Canada, Seccafico was shot. Ive speculated the motive for the shooting was for the new boss to cement his position as boss and eliminate a potential threat in Seccafico. Feel free to comment ur speculation on who killed Seccafico and why it might’ve happened.

I think at that time the boss was a ruling panel, so if a few of them wanted him dead, it happened.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 5:19 am I was talkin about murdered Bonanno soldier Anthony Seccafico just recently in another thread, so I’ve decided to give his killing its own thread. Gang Land News:
But as Gang Land reported right after Seccafico's murder, the mobster-laborer had rubbed several members of his Bronx-based crew the wrong way. Among them was then-capo, the late Patrick (Patty From The Bronx) DeFilippo, and soldier John (Johnny Joe) Spirito.
Several years later, when Johnny Joe was detained without bail, and Spirito's son, John Jr., complained that Seccafico wasn't forwarding his father's share of the spoils to his mom, sources said Little Anthony slapped John Jr. and told him: "I'm around now, not your father. If you have a problem, tell your father to come around and see me when he gets home."
Sources said Seccafico was also suspected of shorting his mob superiors cash that he was supposed to be passing up to them.

That’s the one, Slim. I think it’s thought that, following the arrests and defections of the early-to-mid-2000s, there has only been one Bronx crew in the Bonanno family although they seem to have been swelling their numbers by inducting a whole lot of younger guys in the past decade or so.

Re: Anthony Seccafico
The bronx crew could’ve been the ones that whacked seccafico. I remember reading somewhere that seccafico recognized the gunman and tried to make a run for it right before he got shot. Whoever killed seccafico not only prob knew him, but also planned out the hit very well. The hit happened early morning with no witnesses and seccafico was dead when the cops arrived. Good at aiming a gun unlike the guy who shot Sal Zottola.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 4:41 pm That’s the one, Slim. The Bronx crew are the main suspects in the Seccafico hit, naturally.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 6:21 pmThe bronx crew could’ve been the ones that whacked seccafico. As for Zottola, my opinion is, as I’ve said before, it was not a mob hit on account of the black gunman OR whoever ordered it didn’t want it to look like a mob hit.
The Bronx crew is not short of young, capable shooters, presumably like the guys who got Seccafico. Not to mention there are probably Italian kids lining up to whack somebody in an attempt to get made so hiring a sloppy, jittery black shooter just seems strange to me.
Also, I believe that if Zottola really thought the mob was after him, he would have flipped. The fact that he’s refused to cooperate with investigators implies that he’s not overly worried about the threat of his life.

Re: Anthony Seccafico
Its not completely ruled out that the zottola shooting was a mob hit. The mob doesn’t just hire italians to do hits. Joe watts was german and he was a top shooter for gotti and terrence caldwell was black and he was hired multiple times to whack guys for the lucheses. Im convinced the zottola shooting is a mob hit but thats just megohnjotti wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 6:34 pmThe Bronx crew are the main suspects in the Seccafico hit, naturally.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 6:21 pmThe bronx crew could’ve been the ones that whacked seccafico. Re: Anthony Seccafico
Fair point Slim but Caldwell was not hired "multiple times to whack guys for the lucheses." He was hired once, to murder Michael Meldish. His previous hit was the attempted murder of Bonanno soldier Enzo Stagno, in which he was hired by Meldish who didn't have the permission of the Lucchese hierarchy which is the primary reason for Meldish's murder.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 7:42 pmIts not completely ruled out that the zottola shooting was a mob hit. Re: Anthony Seccafico
I agree on the Seccafico hit . Dissagree on the Zottola attempt. I think it was a mob hit attempt. I don't think he would cooperate because his main source of income is directly associated with OC. He would first attempt to settle whatever dispute he is involved in via OC because giving up his business and leaving town to cooperate is a lot harder then it sounds. etc. I think the hit was a disagreement on who gets what from his business. etc. Vending and Video Poker machines in NY area is almost always a money grab by OC. Always was and Always will be. Blacks guys have been hired shooters for a very longtime in OC. Not just black but Non Italians in general have been LCN for decades. Colombo was shot by a black guy said to be hired by the Gambino Family. Elvis Irizarry was a brutal NJ enforcer for the Gambino Zips. Killed a few guys.. beat the shit out of now Bonnano capo Joseph Sammartino Sr... Joseph Sammartino Jr was so scared of Elvis he cooperated with LE. List goes on and on.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 6:34 pmThe Bronx crew are the main suspects in the Seccafico hit, naturally.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 6:21 pmThe bronx crew could’ve been the ones that whacked seccafico. Irizarry got caught on a murder, right?
