You gotta love Daggett, an identified Genovese associate, saying there's no need for the Waterfront Commission. Like there hasn't been a steady line of mob cases on the docks over the past 15-20 years.

Wonder what they meant by saying that mob activities are far more lucrative now?
$350,000 for a checker is absolutely ludicrous. It's been debated for the last 20 years whether the job is even needed, but the base pay nationally is around 40 grand. The labor contracts are ridiculous, and the Commission props the union up in that regard. If there is a strike, the Commission's processes make it impossible to hire temporary replacements. Every entity down there is symbiotic.
