FBI arrests members of N.J.-based organized crime family on murder, prostitution charges

Ten members and associates of the New Jersey-based DeCavalcante organized crime family were arrested today on charges of running a prostitution business, trafficking in drugs and plotting to kill a rival gang member.

All ten defendants are expected to appear this afternoon in the courtroom of U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Falk.

Among them are Charles Stango, 71, of Henderson, Nev.; Frank Nigro, 72, and Paul Colella, 68, both of Toms River.

Federal prosecutors say Stango, alleged to be a captain in the DeCavalcante family, sought permission from Nigro, the family's alleged consigliere, to kill a rival member living in New Jersey.

New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman said the arrests were a signal that organized crime continues in New Jersey.

"Though its ranks have been thinned by countless convictions and its own internal bloodletting, traditional organized crime remains a real problem," Fishman said.

"As today's complaint shows, members and associates of a long-standing organized crime family continue to ply their illegal trade, selling dangerous drugs and illegal cigarettes, promoting prostitution and threatening to settle internal scores with violence and death."

Richard Frankel, the head of the Newark division of the FBI, said the arrests disrupted the operations of one of the region's most notorious crime families.

"The FBI is confident this is a severe blow to the La Cosa Nostra family," Frankel said.

Prosecutors say Stango told an undercover agent of the murder plot, which included hiring two members of an outlaw biker gang to gun down their rival.

Stango and his son Anthony, 33, of Brick had plans to open a high-end escort service for white collar businessmen and professionals in the Toms River area, prosecutors say.

Their plans included establishing a legal business as a front for their prostitution activities, they say.

Great find Chucky. Good to finally have an update on the DeCavalcante family. So Frank Nigro is Consiglieri and Chrles Stagno is a Capo. Since the Feds infiltrated the family we should be getting some interesting info pretty soon.

Maybe if it requires hiring a biker gang or a couple of outsiders it's time to actually give it up and say hey it was a good run while it lasted.

interesting quotes referring to the decalves being under the Gambinos from the indictment-

The DCF is an organized criminal group based in New Jersey that operates in the District ofNew Jersey and elsewhere. Currently, it appears that the DCF operates under the Gambino Family of La Cosa Nostra, one ofthe five major crime families based in New York City (the "Gambinos").

quote from Charles stagno talking to the undercover FBI agent-

"And now we run under the f**kin' Gambinos."

The Decav's have flown under the radar for a while.

So Nigro is Consig, wonder who boss and UB are, Guarraci probably boss, Riggi is ancient.

Remember someone saying Strango, Merlo III, Consalvo & Majuri are the skippers.

What the fuck, that's crazy if true. They have like 40 members and still have structure, strange that they would be under the Gambino's/

Any ideas who this "Horse" (Acting Boss) or "Milk" (Street Boss). According to the Stagno tape "Milk" is an older guy whose uncle was the UnderBoss or Consiglieri. It is hard too tell since a lot of the things Stagno states in that conversation are wrong.

Also any ideas who is Soldier "The Pet/The Mutt" that they were plotting to kill? His Capo was only IDed as "Big Head" who lives and perates in Elizabeth. "Big Head" could be Fat Charlie/Big Ears Majuri.

They made a lot of recordings over the phone and then two UC's....and reading it seems like the tension stemmed from the UC and V1 back to the others getting everyone upset, setting up a possible beating and or murder of V1. Unless I'm understanding it wrong, looks like the UC started a little fire between the two groups, sneaky fucker.

Just read the indictment. Man these guys are dumb talking on the phone. When do they never learn? Bottom of the Gene pool..

Last I read Majuri lived in Linden NJ. I believe he inherited his parents house there. Funny they were gonna get a escort service going. They used to own a handful of rub tug places in Union and Hillside in the 80s and 90s..
Antony Stango aka FAT Wigger... His page is filled with "you feel me" lol There is also a pic of him and his Capo dad.

Did Stango live in Vegas? Didn't seem like he was in NJ much.
