Anchor Rosanna Scotto’s 20-year-old son charged with stealing Chanel purse: court records

You probably won’t be hearing about this arrest on “Good Day New York.”

Fox 5 anchor Rosanna Scotto’s 20-year-old son has been charged with stealing a Chanel purse at the trendy Marquee club in Manhattan early Saturday, court records show.

Louis Ruggiero was busted at 1:20 a.m. after cops spotted him walking out of the 10th Ave. club with the purse tucked under his jacket.

The grandson of ex-Gambino boss Anthony Scotto was also found in possession of a bag of cocaine and a forged Illinois license, court records show.

The bag, valued at more than $1,000, belonged to a 40-year-old woman, sources said.

Ruggiero was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Ruggiero, who has no prior arrests, was released on his own recognizance at his Saturday night arraignment.

Calls to reps for “Good Day New York” were not immediately returned.

Ruggiero is the son of Scotto and her lawyer husband Louis Ruggiero.

Rosanna Scotto — who co-hosts “Good Day” with Greg Kelly, son of former NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly — has been a fixture at Fox 5 for more than 25 years.

She’s also the co-owner of her family’s E. 52nd St. restaurant, Fresco by Scotto.

Her father, Anthony Scotto, ruled the Brooklyn waterfront for two decades until he was arrested on federal bribery and racketeering charges in 1979.

Scotto, then 45, was convicted of receiving cash payoffs of more than $200,000.

He was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $75,000 on Jan. 22, 1980.

You've got some memory, HK. She looks great, and she's a year older than I am!

But seriously, how embarrassing. This family has serious money. His Mother is semi-famous (and honestly a class act), his Father's a lawyer, and his Grandfather is his Grandfather. SERIOUS fucking money.

This puts her in the same spot as it did back in the '80s when her father was still in the life and in the news once in awhile. She wasn't an anchor yet, so she was able to dodge that bullet. But in more than 25 years on the air I don't think she's ever muttered the word Gambino lol.

The truth? I think this is MUCH more embarrassing for her. Number one, it's her son. Number two, her father is actually a success story. He got out with his life, has loads of money, and he never rolled on anyone. He's actually lectured on organized labor at some top schools in the United States. They did him a favor when they chased him. Assholes. Look at Anthony Scotto today and look at the Gambino class of the 1980's. Tells you everything you need to know. Good for him.

What's the story on the grandfather. I believe I read somewhere in the past Gotti busted him down from Capo to soldier. IS he still around and with the Gambino's And if so, what does he do for them?

He's honestly been out since they chased him. Like I said, they did him a HUGE favor. He's a stand-up guy and he certainly would have gone down with the rest of that ship. And it's debatable whether or not the wheels were in motion to shelve him while Castellano was still alive. It doesn't matter. Look at him today, and look at the rest of the Brooklyn Gambinos from the '80s. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be Anthony Scotto. But obviously younger. And not just younger than him, younger than me .

 I don't know for some reason I thought you were in your 60's!

Must be that Florida talk

And good post on Anthony Scotto, the guy really lucked out.

It must be his kids that go on the today show cooking, thought the mother was on once?

That's the only plausible explanation if you ask me. But who the fuck knows?
