What kind of a question is that? One of the dumbest, but also brazen, moves ever made by any person. Ofcourse the mob was gonna find out about them, and kill them subsequently. I'm sure the couple had some fetish death wish. They were original trolls though and good concept for a movie - which was made starring Andy Garcia as the bearded Bonanno boss.

On the contrary, I think we can say with the benefit of hindsight that it was an exceptionally wise decision on their part, serving them well especially in the long run.
