Age of the mafia

Post by chickenarsonist »

After looking through the charts, I can’t help but notice there is not anyone under 40 in any of the families, have they not been promoted yet? Or is the mafia just slowly declining by itself? What do they manage to do nowadays? Businesswise. Sorry I am a novice to this topic, nor have I seen the Godfather.

They prob just haven’t been promoted. It takes a while to become made. Has nothin to do with age. Al truchio got made when he was 24 and tommy orifece got made when he was 31. Both of there inductions were in the 2000’s. Also you must’ve missed out on dom grande while lookin at the charts. The guy is 39 and is a capo in philly. And about what the mob does these days big moneymakers are loansharking, gambling, drugs, internet scams, gun running, and extorting businesses.

If ur made ur a soldier. Its the lowest rank in the mob if ur a made member. Before soldier is an associate, which means ur not made.

Once inducted into the family a guy is considered ‘made’. He is ‘made’ into the family. He is then considered a soldier. The next level is a Capo, an abbreviation for a Capodecina. Boss of 10. He has a ‘crew’ (around 10) made guys (buttons, soldiers). Above the Capos is the family administration; The consigliere (advisor), the UnderBoss and the Boss.
All members of the family from soldier through to boss are made.

There are a few very rare exceptions where people have been made as captains or even a boss. Generally, however, one starts out as a soldier.

Wasn't George Freselone made underboss after his ceremony? Obviously showed the state of the family at the time. And then there was Ralph Natale who was made and then named boss.

Freselone was promoted to Capo the same day he was made.
